Hidden Gems: Meet Hamlet Tamazian of Tableful

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hamlet Tamazian.

Hi Hamlet, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Creating Tableful has been a thrilling and rewarding journey for me. Born in New Jersey, near Manhattan, and raised in Yerevan, Armenia where my family is from, I had the privilege of attending Quality Schools International. The school’s excellent quality and diverse environment provided me with invaluable exposure to knowledge and people from various backgrounds paving the way for my upcoming academic endeavors. My hard work and dedication led me to Pepperdine University, where I pursued a major in International Business and became certified in Conflict Management & Alternate Dispute Resolution at the prestigious Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. During my college years, I gained hands-on experience by interning and working in diverse roles, such as sales at Northwestern Mutual, political science in Washington, DC, and serving as the Director of Marketing at Pepperdine’s school-run consulting agency The Waves Effect.

The idea for Tableful emerged while I was studying abroad in college. I imagined a theme-based social media platform designed to help smaller groups connect at different locations. As I refined this concept, I incorporated it into my senior year’s final project—a business plan for a platform named Hiver. This project laid the groundwork for the ideas that eventually shaped Tableful.

Realizing that coding skills would be essential to bring my vision to life, I eagerly took on the challenge of learning to code. This decision not only helped me acquire valuable coding skills but also ignited a passion for programming, ultimately leading me to become a professional software developer.

Throughout Tableful’s development process, I adapted the concept to various situations and persevered even when global lockdowns slowed our progress. I funded and assembled Tableful myself, taking on multiple roles ranging from coding to social media while enlisting the expertise of professionals and delegating tasks in legal, accounting, software development, and marketing.

My journey to build Tableful has been an incredible learning experience marked by challenges and personal growth. My educational background, internships, and passion for software development have all played a significant role in Tableful’s success. As I continue to adapt and innovate, I remain dedicated to revolutionizing the nightlife industry and making higher-quality, VIP experiences accessible to everyone.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Bringing Tableful to its current state has been a journey filled with overcoming challenges, adapting to evolving circumstances, and learning at every turn. I have thoroughly enjoyed the process of creating something innovative and unique. One invaluable lesson I’ve gained from my travels is that the journey itself is often more rewarding than the destination. This mindset, coupled with my passion for learning and hands-on involvement, has enabled me to be part of every stage of Tableful’s development, ensuring the highest quality.

In the beginning, all I had was an idea and my education. I quickly realized that to bring Tableful to life, I needed to understand the technical aspects of digital applications as well as many financial, business, and marketing nuances. As I approached the end of my time at Pepperdine, I began learning to code. After self-learning the basics, I enrolled in and graduated from Galvanize, a coding bootcamp in San Francisco, where I developed the first Tableful demo. From there, I continued to progress step by step, working on various projects, attending meetups, and seeking opportunities to broaden my industry knowledge and skills. At one meetup, I met Erez Ascher, a senior developer who took me under his wing and provided part-time work at his agency, helping me develop my skills to the point where I landed my first full-time software developer role at QBI. After a year and a half of learning and maturing as an engineer, I was laid off when the company was acquired. However, this incident had a silver lining, as I soon found myself working for Apple at their LA headquarters, in the former Beats by Dre offices. During my 2.5 years at Apple, I worked on their internal libraries and tools, building software to manage Apple TV+ workflow systems. With fond memories, friendships, and valuable experience, I moved on to become a Senior Software Engineer at Workboard, where I worked until deciding to focus solely on Tableful. This ongoing learning experience has been essential in leading my team to develop the product we have today.

After acquiring coding skills, my next step for Tableful was to find a company to collaborate with for the design and development of the MVP. Soon after I found my initial partner, the head of the company shifted to work in the Armenian government and could no longer be who I built Tableful with. At this point, I was pressed to find a partner that would get my idea across the finish line. I reconnected with Dr. Zarig Boghossian whom I knew as a professor from Pepperdine and who had a software development studio in Armenia. Having had conversations about Tableful with him previously, I knew I could trust him and his company’s work and rely on his advice. This partnership has served Tableful well as we’ve successfully developed the software we need to drive the engine of our business.

Our current two priorities are to grow awareness, excitement, and engagement with partners and guests, as well as raise investments. The last nine months were dedicated to managing boutique relations with our initial partners and ensuring our model and technology worked well. Our next phase is to focus on growth and making the Tableful experience available en masse.

Having all pieces in place for this new experience to explode onto the nightlife scene, Tableful is steadily moving toward a world where tables, VIP access, and luxurious experiences are available to everyone on our special nights out.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Tableful is a revolutionary way to connect guests with venues, promoters, and promotions to join and enjoy VIP tables at a PER PERSON PRICE! 🕺🏻

Instead of having to buy a full table alone or be forced to go with a large group and split the bill, Tableful enables you to go alone, with another person, or groups of any size and still enjoy your nightlife in luxury while only having to worry about your share of costs. Buying a Tableful VIP ticket allows guests to benefit from all VIP perks including priority entry, table access, drinks, and more. 🪩

Tableful is not another tool to do the same things we currently have. Tableful is a new experience, a new tier of VIP nightlife, and the business that will drive this new idea to exist for more people. Tableful offers a digital platform available as a website and app that is revolutionizing the way people experience nightlife. Our innovative approach to event promotion is a game-changer for guests, venues, and event promoters alike. At Tableful, we understand that going out can be expensive and time-consuming. We also understand that the VIP experience is something that many people desire but cannot always afford or organize. That’s where Tableful comes in. Our software allows for guest lists, tickets, full tables, and our specialty of table sharing by purchasing seats to VIP tables.

By lowering the price to be per person, we can now connect with other influencers with large audiences to drive new customers to VIP offerings. Event promoters no longer have to be on-site and can sell for various tables and locations on the same night. In fact, promoters can bring someone to Tableful once, and as long as their promo code is used, they will continue to make money.

The benefits of selling seats to a VIP table are immense for both venues and event promoters. Venues can make sure to minimize empty tables, maximize the charge for guests, and ensure their venue is full of happy, paying customers. With Tableful, venues can offer VIP experiences at a fraction of the cost, which means they can attract new customers who would otherwise be priced out of the experience.

For guests, selling seats to a VIP table is a no-brainer. Not only do they get all the VIP benefits for a luxury night out, but they also get to share the experience with others, making it a more social and enjoyable experience. Tableful’s table sharing feature means that guests can purchase a seat at a VIP table and enjoy the company of other like-minded individuals. This is perfect for those who want to experience the VIP life but do not want to pay for an entire table or feel uncomfortable going alone.

In conclusion, Tableful’s innovative approach to event promotion has been a game-changer for guests, venues, and event promoters. By offering VIP experiences at a fraction of the cost and allowing for table sharing, we have created a more accessible and social nightlife experience for everyone. With our platform, guests can enjoy the VIP experience, venues can maximize their profits, and event promoters can bring in new customers while making money on a continuous basis. Join Tableful today and experience the future of nightlife.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years, I expect Tableful to have a presence in most venues in cities big and small, in the USA and abroad. Table sharing will be a normal part of nightlife where events will have at least one table that is dedicated for guests to join per person. There simply is no reason for event organizers to leave money on the table while disallowing their paying customers to pay them more for a better experience.

Sometime later, sharing a VIP table will be as normal as Uber or AirBnb. Both these companies have elements similar to Tableful. Like UberPool, we will offer a new tier of experience that will offer a better bang-for-buck value to our customers while keeping other stake-holders equally pleased. We will also empower promoters to work when and where they want with any of our partners, creating a marketplace of talent that is matched with need. Similar to Airbnb, we empower our partners to make maximum as well as fractional proceeds from their valuable assets instead of having them sit empty. In the case of Tableful, it won’t cost our partners any more money to make their tables available on Tableful while making it possible for them to have huge growth with minimal scaling costs.

As the economy remains unpredictable, providing guests more flexible ways to take part in luxury experiences will allow those who can to do so. Offering the best value– in the form of high quality experience for fair prices– will bring into the fold of VIP nightlife a traditionally disenchanted segment of guests who comprise the majority of our population. In addition, in a world of overwhelming numbers of available products, people are increasingly drawn to overall atmospheres, unique experiences, and being made to feel special. That is what Tableful will bring to people– a slice of the good life we all desire and deserve.

Pricing:
Tableful offers guests to pay for their share of a VIP table’s cost in order to join the table and enjoy all available benefits including priority entry, table access, drinks, and more. Instead of having to buy a full table alone or be forced to go with a large group and split the bill, Tableful enables you to go alone, with another person, or groups of any size and still enjoy your nightlife in luxury while only having to worry about your share of costs.

This means that if the base cost of a table is $1000 and it is meant for 10 people, then each person’s cost is only $100. This vastly increases the target audience for VIP experiences, allowing venues and promoters to make many more sales to many more people.
