Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Brendan Courneene, ND.
Hi Dr. Brendan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been drawn to understanding the deeper mechanisms behind health and healing. My journey began with a degree in Chemistry, which gave me a foundation in the science behind how the body works. From there, I pursued my Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at the National University of Natural Medicine, where I committed to an individualized, whole-person approach to care.
Early in my career, I worked as a Clinical and Medical Director across various settings—including mobile IV platforms and international integrative programs—which gave me a unique perspective on both accessibility and innovation in medicine. Over time, I realized my greatest impact came from direct patient care and guiding others through complex or overlooked health concerns.
Today, I’m the full-time Clinical Director of the Center for Optimal Repair and Recovery (CORR), where I integrate regenerative medicine, advanced IV therapies, hormone optimization, and functional diagnostics to help patients restore health on every level. The work is deeply rewarding, and I’m proud to offer personalized care to the Greater Los Angeles area through a clinic model built around education, precision, and outcomes.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road—especially during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the peak of mortality in Los Angeles, I was working long hours providing urgent care and IV therapy services to patients who couldn’t access hospitals or were too high-risk to wait in overcrowded emergency rooms. Much of that care was done through mobile services, which meant driving across the city at all hours, managing acute needs on-site, and helping patients stabilize at home when resources were limited.
The emotional and physical toll was real—navigating clinical burnout, safety concerns, and the weight of seeing so much fear and uncertainty in the community. But it was also where I found the clearest sense of purpose. Those challenges pushed me to think creatively, act decisively, and reinforce the importance of adaptable, patient-centered medicine.
It was during that time that I saw how valuable direct access to care could be—not just in times of crisis, but as a foundation for long-term health. That insight helped shape the model we now use at the Center for Optimal Repair and Recovery, where we focus on accessible, high-impact interventions with continuity and trust at the core.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At the Center for Optimal Repair + Recovery (CORR), we specialize in integrative, regenerative, and functional medicine with a focus on evidence-based repair and recovery protocols. Our mission is to deliver highly personalized care that addresses the root causes of dysfunction—whether you’re recovering from surgery, managing chronic illness, or optimizing long-term health.
What sets CORR apart is our depth and breadth of services, combined with a clinical model that bridges conventional diagnostics with advanced therapeutics. We offer a full suite of IV nutrient and peptide therapies, hormone optimization, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, regenerative medicine, and pre- and post-surgical recovery support. Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual, not the diagnosis.
Our clinic is known for treating complex cases—patients who have often seen multiple providers without getting answers. We take the time to listen, test thoroughly, and deliver care that is both science-driven and human-centered. What we’re most proud of is the outcome-focused trust we’ve built with our patients—many of whom come to us for precision-based care after exhausting more generalized options.
From a brand perspective, CORR is built around a single principle: repair is possible. Whether you’re navigating recovery, burnout, chronic illness, or performance fatigue, our clinic was designed to be a place where healing is not only possible—but strategic, measurable, and aligned with your goals.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
One person who has played a pivotal role in shaping the direction and vision of the Center for Optimal Repair + Recovery (CORR) is Dr. Leif Rogers, MD, FACS—our Medical Director and a nationally respected plastic and reconstructive surgeon. His integrative mindset and commitment to innovation have been central to what makes CORR unique.
Dr. Rogers is not only a leader in advanced reconstructive and aesthetic surgery but also someone who pushes the boundaries of what medicine should look like. Rather than viewing healing through a narrow lens, he recognized early on that surgical outcomes, recovery timelines, and patient satisfaction could all be significantly improved through a more comprehensive and collaborative model of care.
By inviting a naturopathic doctor to work alongside his surgical team, Dr. Rogers demonstrated a forward-thinking commitment to truly integrative care—blending the precision of surgical science with the restorative depth of functional and regenerative medicine. This partnership has allowed CORR to deliver a next-level recovery experience, combining advanced procedures with pre- and post-operative therapies like IV nutrition, peptide optimization, hyperbaric oxygen, and metabolic support.
His openness to collaboration, deep respect for patient-centered care, and tireless pursuit of better outcomes have helped shape not just our clinic’s services, but also its ethos. CORR is a space where innovation meets trust, and much of that is thanks to Dr. Rogers’ willingness to lead with both vision and humility.
