Hi Delia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From a young age, I was captivated by the world of drawing and painting. This passion blossomed during middle school and was further fueled by a graphic design internship I undertook in high school. My love for design only grew stronger through my high school and college years as I immersed myself in graphic design classes. Encouraged by supportive family members, I began designing logos, business cards, and birthday invitations, which sparked the idea to offer these services professionally.
Since 2007, I have been dedicated to the art of design. In 2020, I expanded my business to include crafting, allowing me to offer a diverse range of products for special occasions, such as cake toppers, t-shirts, labels and much more. Today, my business continues to thrive, providing unique and personalized items for every celebration.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has been mostly smooth, but there have been challenges along the way, especially in juggling my small business with a full-time job. The limited space I have to work with and the constant race against time can be overwhelming, yet I still manage to produce beautiful, high-quality work. Seeing the joy on my customers’ faces when they receive their orders makes it all worthwhile. My dream is to one day open a storefront, where I can showcase and offer a diverse range of personalized items, bringing even more of my creative visions to life.

We’ve been impressed with Dstar Designs, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My small business, Dstar Designs, offers a wide range of personalized items, from logo and digital design to custom creations for birthdays and special occasions, like cake toppers. These toppers have become really popular, not just with clients but also with bakers who use them to enhance their cakes. Recently, I started offering customized graduation items such as caps and stoles, which I absolutely love creating. I’m very detail-oriented and always make sure to check in with my clients before starting their order. I send mock-ups, and I especially enjoy when they trust me to surprise them. Seeing their reactions when they receive their order is priceless. Over time, I’ve realized that I’m not just building a customer base I have clients who’ve become friends.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Even though I faced the loss of many family members and close friends during COVID-19, my business became my anchor. It provided a sense of happiness and comfort that helped me navigate those challenging times. Through this experience, I learned that anything is possible if you truly want it—just go for it. Staying busy with my business during that period reinforced my belief in the power of determination and pursuing my dreams.
