Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I came up with the idea of Cali Raw Nutrition in early 2018 after losing my very first dog, a golden long-haired chihuahua with a chocolate brown nose named Clyde. At the time I had Clyde, I was only aware of a kibble diet and so the quality of life for Clyde’s last five years was not optimal.
It was then that I was introduced to raw dog food, but unfortunately, it was too late for Clyde. At the time, my rescue Pitbull, Dharma, started developing allergies and within weeks of putting her on a raw diet, I was sold. I saw the visible changes and health benefits and began telling everyone I knew about the benefits of raw dog food. My passion grew rapidly and I decided to start Cali Raw Nutrition to help other pet parents enhance their dog’s health & longevity with a fresh raw diet.
Since opening our doors in 2018, Cali Raw Nutrition has expanded to nationwide shipping as well as launched a treat line, offering single-ingredient healthy treats and chews for dogs. Our goal is to help as many dogs as possible live a healthy, long life!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In 2020, we were faced with some challenges brought forth by the pandemic. We ship directly to our customer’s doors, which we had to limit to the 20 Western Region States due to nationwide shipping delays.
We also faced some challenges with the supply chain, as many industries are facing.
Through these obstacles, we became very focused on our local community! We began collaborating with other local companies to help support each other and even launched a single-ingredient treat line, Crafted Dog Treats, which are sold on our website as well.
Since adjusting to these challenges, we are proud to say we now offer nationwide shipping again which we started in August 2022!

We make it easy and convenient for pet parents to feed a complete & balanced, species-appropriate diet!
Our formulas are made from human-grade ingredients and require absolutely no additional supplements. We offer formulas for both adult dogs and puppies, which is something most raw pet food brands do not do.
We also have a healthy dog treat line, Crafted Dog Treats, and offer single-ingredient, nutritious treats and chews. These are a great addition to a raw diet!

We ship weekly to 48 states, offer Local Delivery in Orange County, as well as Local Pickup from our location in Newport Beach, CA.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I’ve learned to adjust and focus on what we can control! The pandemic was challenging to navigate, forcing us to limit our shipping to 20 states to deal with the nationwide shipping crisis. Through this obstacle, we turned our focus and really saw the power of word of mouth and our local community. We didn’t let these challenges stop us from growing. Instead, we launched our treat line and worked diligently to expand our shipping as soon as possible, which we did this year!
