Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben Odudu.

Hi Ben, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Server Solution Plus in 2023 after leaving my previous MSP, where I gained a deep understanding of both the technical and business sides of IT. That experience helped shape not just my skill set, but also my confidence to build something of my own.

My journey into IT began long before that. I moved to the United States from Nigeria at age 11 after my mother won the visa lottery, an opportunity that changed the course of our lives. Like many immigrant stories, mine started with hard work and persistence. My first job was in a warehouse, taken with the hope that once I proved myself, I could transition into an IT role. That opportunity never came, but it motivated me to keep pushing forward.

I went on to graduate from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Business Information Technology. From there, I landed my second role as an IT Analyst at a medical clinic, where I spent several years building hands on experience and learning how technology directly supports people and operations.

My next move was joining an MSP, which became a turning point in my career. I started on the help desk, handling tickets, but within a year I worked my way up to become one of the top two engineers at the company. That growth showed me what was possible when preparation meets opportunity.

In 2023, I took the leap and founded Server Solution Plus. Today, the company reflects my journey: resilience, continuous learning, and a commitment to helping businesses succeed through reliable, thoughtful IT solutions.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s definitely been very challenging. Learning what it truly takes to run a business has been eye opening. It requires a tremendous amount of discipline, endurance, and hard work to keep going, especially on the days when giving up feels like the easier option. But those are often the days when pushing forward matters the most.

We’ve been impressed with Server Solution Plus, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Server Solution Plus is a cybersecurity and managed IT services firm built to support small to mid sized businesses that either don’t have internal IT or need to strengthen what they already have. We handle everything under the IT umbrella, from day to day technical support to phones, email, cloud systems, servers, and websites, allowing business owners to stay focused on running their companies.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I would say one of the best resources for anyone starting out is building relationships with other MSPs. Too often, MSP owners see one another strictly as competition, when in reality we can be valuable resources for each other. One MSP may have deep expertise in an area you’re still learning, or the ability to support a project that’s larger than what you can handle alone. Collaboration can open doors that working in isolation never will.

I’d also strongly encourage getting out and networking. In the beginning, landing that first client can be tough, but once you do, momentum starts to build. Each win leads to another, and growth becomes more natural over time. The key is staying consistent, learning from others, and not being afraid to ask for help when you need it.
