Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Rodriguez
Hi Andrew, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In 2011, I started creating content just to make my friends laugh. It was a mix of cover videos of Drake and J. Cole, along with funny, sometimes cringey posts that I made out of boredom. When Instagram introduced its video feature, it gave me even more of a platform to experiment with content for fun.
Fast forward to 2021—I landed a job as a photographer at a Chevy dealership in Victorville, where I was tasked with taking photos of the vehicles. Noticing that their social media presence was lacking, I proposed managing the account to create and post content. The owner agreed, and Chevy became the first business I learned to create content for. Through consistent work, I grew the dealership’s social media, and my efforts caught the attention of Roman, the owner of Huntington Films. He reached out to offer a free drone shot of the dealership. We connected, and I admired his ability to create ads and content for various businesses. I asked if I could shadow him, and soon I was tagging along to his shoots, learning the ins and outs of content creation on a broader scale.
Eventually, I took a leap of faith—I left the dealership and found a part-time job that gave me more time to learn from Roman while helping other businesses create content. After two years, I decided to part ways with Huntington Films due to creative differences and launched my own social media agency, J.A.R Production, named after my kids: James, Andiee, and Robynn.
Now, I’m running my own business, consistently working with clients who trust me to handle their content month after month, while continuing to grow as an entrepreneur.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? No, it hasn’t. I’ve had to sacrifice a lot of my time to learn alongside Roman at Huntington Films. Along the way, I’ve faced my fair share of challenges—getting taken advantage of by business owners, making mistakes that led to refunding clients, and navigating the complexities of sharing clients with other videographers.
Balancing my personal and professional life has been one of the toughest parts. As a husband and father, it’s difficult to be fully present with my wife and kids while trying to grow a business. I’m still learning how to find that balance between work and life, but every challenge has taught me valuable lessons that help me move forward.
As you know, we’re big fans of J.A.R Production. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I believe in taking a personal and straightforward approach when working with clients. If there’s something I can’t do, I’ll be honest about it, but I’ll also do my best to figure it out. I don’t take myself too seriously, and I’m open about the realities of being a videographer and running a business—it’s not always smooth, but I embrace the challenges.
Many videographers tend to come across as overly confident, or they avoid offering help when needed. I’ve always aimed to be the opposite. I value being approachable, collaborative, and transparent, and I believe that building a strong relationship with clients is key to creating great content.
At the end of the day, it’s about working together to create something that really helps your business grow, while also keeping the process fun and real.
