Exploring Life & Business with Sherif Rayes of Like A Boss Coffee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherif Rayes.

Hi Sherif, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Like A Boss Coffee has been around since 2006. I took over the business after the previous owner, Patrick, retired.
I wanted to continue what he had successfully built while also adding my own touch by introducing a few new drinks options and expanding our menu.
With strong customer support and consistent success at farmers markets, studio gigs and various local events, i was able to grow the business even further. we’re now added another coffee truck to keep up with demand and cater multiple events simultaneously. it’s been a rewarding journey, and I’m proud of how far the business has come.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any small business, it definitely hasn’t all beensmooth sailing. When i first took over, there was a learning curve, understanding the operation, managing inventory, keeping up with demand and just making sure everything ran as smoothly as possible.
There were also challenges with scheduling and logistics, especially once we started booking more events and needed to be in multiple locations at once. Adding another truck helped a lot, but it came with it’s own set of growing pains, from finding reliable staff to managing maintenance and supplies.
But honestly, every challenge taught me something and pushed me to get better at running the business. It’s all part of the process, and seeing how far we’ve come, makes all the efforts worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Like A Boss Coffee is all about bringing good vibes and great coffee wherever we go. We’re a mobile coffee business, so you’ll find us at farmers market, studio lots, and all kinds of local events. We specialize in handcrafted espresso drinks, cold brew, and a few signature creations that our regulars hace come to love.

Brand-wise, I’m proud that we’ve built something people recognize and connect with, from our drinks to our friendly service. We’ve grown through word of mouth and genuine relationships, and that’s something I really value. At the end of the day, it’s all about community, good coffee, and keeping it real.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Consistency and patience are everything. Running a business has its ups and downs, but staying consistent, showing up every day and putting in the work, really makes the difference. I’ve also learned to trust the process. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but if you keep delivering good coffee and good service, people notice. It’s all about playing the long game.
