Today we’d like to introduce you to Sergio Soto
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Fell in love with cars since a very young age, for as long as I can remember. I believe it all started with the truck my dad started to build which fortunately has now been passed down to me. Growing up I always knew I wanted to somehow work around cars and eventually I was led down the path of auto detailing. The first car I ever layed my hands to “detail” on was my dad’s Tahoe. I quote “detail” because I didn’t know what I was doing. In fact I actually messed the Tahoe up. I was 16 at the time. During high school I got my first job and spent my first check on a real set of detailing tools which I still have to this day! At 18 I got my first job detailing for a dealership. Months later I left that job for unfortunate reasons and had to let detailing go for the moment. Spent 2 years in a job I hated, I knew deep down I wanted to detail cars. Finally got a big break, quit my job. Found new a job at a detail shop, learned and perfected my craft and at 23 years old I jumped the gun and got my first shop. I was working both at my job 6 days a week and at my shop whenever I could. Nearly a year later after I got my shop and I am making another leap of faith. I am quitting my job and going ALL IN on my business. That’s where I am at today. As of October 7th 2024. I can officially consider myself a business owner who knows nothing about business but willing to give it a shot anyways
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Seeing my parents handle tough situations, I think I have learned to never really consider anything a tough situation. I always make sure to be self aware and be grateful about where I am at today. I wouldn’t consider anything much of a struggle, it’s all apart of the game. Got to take the good with the bad.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Reflective Motorsports?
At reflective Motorsports we specialize in ceramic coatings and paint correction. It all falls under the detailing category but that is my bread and butter. I think what sets me apart from others is that I am not a commercial brand. I consider myself a hole in the wall, work is phenomenal but not known. Yet.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Family matters to me most. I always see others and I realized how fortunate I am. I have grown up in a home where I had both my parents constantly support me. I can honestly say I have had the easiest life ever. Owe it all to my parents, that’s why I do what I do. I want to make sure I don’t waste my life and become successful in my parents eyes. I believe it would be disrespectful to my parents if I didn’t take the opportunity they have given to me to make sure I make my dreams come true.
