Hi Russell & Sean, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Our story began years ago, when Russell’s mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in South Africa and had to transition into an assisted living community. Experiencing that process firsthand of the emotions, the logistics, and the sensitivity it required had left a deep impression on our family.
When we later moved to the United States, we saw how many families here were facing the same challenges. For many, helping an aging loved one move isn’t just about boxes and furniture, it’s about trust, compassion, and understanding what that moment represents. We realized there was a real need for relocation support that treated seniors with the same care and dignity we wanted for our own family.
That’s how Golden Relocation came to life. What started as a family effort has grown into a full-service company helping seniors and their families all across Greater Los Angeles. Today, we not only provide moving and downsizing assistance, but we also stay involved with organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association to support awareness and research.
At our core, we’re driven by one mission: to make one of life’s most difficult transitions as comfortable, respectful, and seamless as possible.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any small family business, it definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Starting out, we faced the same challenges many local companies do in finding our place in the community, earning trust, and building a reputation from the ground up.
Working in senior relocation also comes with its own unique emotional and logistical challenges. Every move involves sensitive situations of families navigating difficult decisions, timelines that can change overnight, and the responsibility of caring for someone’s most personal belongings. It took time to develop the systems, team, and understanding needed to handle those moments with both professionalism and empathy.
But those experiences shaped who we are today. Each challenge helped us refine our process, strengthen our values, and become more intentional about the kind of care we provide. Looking back, the road wasn’t always easy, but it’s what built the foundation for the trust we now have with so many families and senior communities across Los Angeles.

Golden Relocation is a family-run company founded by Russell, his wife Karin, and their son Sean. Together, they specialize in helping seniors and their families navigate one of life’s most emotional and complex experiences relocating to a new home or senior community.

From the first step of downsizing and organizing what to keep, donate, or dispose of, to packing, relocating, unpacking, and complete room setup, we handle everything so families don’t have to.
We’re known for making every new space feel like home from day one. Our team hangs artwork, installs TVs, arranges furniture, and even helps create thoughtful floor plans designed for both safety and comfort.
What truly sets us apart, though, is our relationship with the communities we serve. Over time, we’ve built strong partnerships with senior living facilities all across Los Angeles County. We know the staff, we know the residents, and we take pride in being a trusted, familiar presence wherever we go.
We’re also deeply involved with the Alzheimer’s Association. Having helped many families through memory care transitions, we’ve seen firsthand how dementia impacts both residents and their loved ones, and it’s why this work is so close to our hearts. Every relocation we do is personal, and we see our work as a way to give families peace of mind while honoring the stories and memories that make each home special.
