Exploring Life & Business with Rita Parsamyan Mahood of Lazer Lounge, MegaFit by Lagree

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rita Parsamyan Mahood.

Hi Rita, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story wouldn’t be complete without sharing that I came to the United States at age 10, knowing only what my aunt had taught me to say: “Hi, my name is Rita Parsamyan.” From an early age, I knew I wanted to be a nurse. My mother had always dreamed of becoming a nurse herself, but due to cultural limitations in Armenia, she wasn’t allowed to pursue education or a career. That fueled me with determination, and after finishing high school, I went straight into nursing school. By 22, I was a registered nurse.

As I gained confidence, I took a leap of faith, leaving a steady county job to chase my dream of entrepreneurship. In 2017, I opened Lazer Lounge Med Spa. I worked day and night, wearing every hat in the business just to cover expenses and keep going. I still remember sitting there without a single phone call, forcing myself to stay motivated. That struggle made me stronger and truly unstoppable.

While growing Lazer Lounge, I also decided to pursue an even higher educational goal and went to graduate school to become a family nurse practitioner. Along the way, seeing firsthand what hard work and dedication could build, I was inspired to open another dream business: a Lagree studio designed to motivate and empower fellow moms through movement and community.

Fast forward to 2025, after years of grit and resilience, I completed the biggest expansion and relocation of Lazer Lounge yet, moving into a beautiful Studio City location that fully brought my vision to life. This accomplishment means the world to me because throughout my life, I’ve heard so many no’s. I was even fired from my very first job because they didn’t see my potential to move from a filing clerk to a receptionist. Looking back, I’m grateful for every obstacle, because those challenges built the person I am today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest struggles I faced was going through a failed marriage at just 23 years old, which forced me to really figure out who I was and what I wanted in life. That experience made me grow up fast and become more resilient. This experience also helped me find my soul mate years later and start a beautiful family.

Another ongoing challenge has been finding balance – being a mom of two while still pursuing my dreams has been, and continues to be, a work in progress. It’s something I’m still learning to navigate every day.

But honestly, those obstacles have shaped me into the person I am today. I believe that without them, I wouldn’t be here. So whenever I face a new challenge, whether in life or in business, I try to meet it head-on and with an open heart, knowing that each struggle brings a new lesson and a chance to grow. After all, isn’t that what life is really about?

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Lazer Lounge, MegaFit by Lagree?
At Lazer Lounge, we specialize in all things medical aesthetics, including facial injectables, advanced skin resurfacing, and rejuvenation treatments. I bring an artistic and precise eye for detail to my work, which has been a major asset in growing the business. What truly sets me apart is my honesty with clients. People trust me because they know I will give them my genuine, professional opinion. Sometimes that means letting them know a treatment they are asking for isn’t actually necessary. My philosophy is about helping people look their absolute best while still looking like themselves, not like a completely different person. That mindset has attracted a loyal client base who value the same approach, and I am deeply grateful for them.

Another huge part of my life and brand is MegaFit by Lagree. As a mom who cares about feeling strong, healthy, and confident, Lagree transformed my own fitness journey. That inspired me to build a community where others, especially fellow moms, can feel empowered through movement. We currently have locations in Glendale and La Cañada, with a third opening soon in San Marino. I am incredibly proud of the supportive, inspiring MegaFit community we have built, and the way our clients encourage and motivate each other both inside and outside the studio.

Overall, both brands reflect my commitment to honesty, empowerment, and excellence, whether it is helping someone feel their best in their own skin or discover their strength through movement.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is growth, because I believe that continuous growth gives purpose to every challenge, success, and even failure. My ultimate goal in life is to be happy, and I have found that happiness is deeply connected to evolving as a person. Whether I am growing as a mother, a business owner, or simply as a human being, that process keeps me motivated and fulfilled.

Growth reminds me that there is no final destination and that there is always something new to learn about myself, my community, and the world around me. It pushes me to show up with integrity, to take risks, and to stay open-hearted. In the end, I believe that a commitment to growth is what helps us stay resilient, create meaningful connections, and ultimately build a life that makes us genuinely happy.
