Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Wilson.
Hi Patrick , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I had been looking for a side hustle and discovered that becoming a notary and handling real estate loan documents was a great opportunity. It was simple enough to get started and seemed like a smart way to earn extra income.
I became a notary at the beginning of 2020. When the lockdown hit, I was furloughed from my job and suddenly had the time to explore this new path. I noticed how active the real estate market was becoming and decided to get certified in loan documents. I began marketing myself to national signing services and local escrow companies.
The response was more than I expected. I was able to build relationships quickly and started getting consistent work. What stood out to me almost immediately was how much of an impact professionalism and care made in this role. Clients and escrow offices noticed when the notary brought clear communication and a calm, respectful presence to the table.
I focused on making clients feel informed and comfortable. That attention to detail didn’t just help the client. It also made the real estate agents, escrow officers, lenders, and title professionals look even better in front of their clients. I realized the notary was the final step in the process, and if done well, it could leave a lasting impression that benefited everyone.
That experience led me to create Noble Signings. I wanted to build a signing service that was about more than completing paperwork. I wanted to connect professionals with notaries who represented the same level of care and excellence they worked so hard to deliver.
At Noble Signings, we believe the final step should feel just as thoughtful as every step that came before it. When the closing experience is handled with care and attention, everyone involved benefits.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has definitely had its challenges. One of the biggest was shifting my mindset.
When I first started, I thought it would just be a side hustle. But almost immediately, I realized this was something bigger. That meant I had to change how I thought. I was no longer an employee. I had to start thinking like a business owner, which came with some growing pains.
Suddenly, I was in charge of everything. Sales, branding, client experience, paperwork, taxes. Sales especially pushed me out of my comfort zone. Talking about myself, explaining what made my service different, trying to build a brand that felt professional. It was overwhelming at first. But, I also realized I could build my business the way I wanted and choose the customers I actually wanted to work with. I had the freedom to create whatever I felt inspired to. The flip side was that I had to lean on discipline to keep showing up. Consistency doesn’t come easy, and honestly, just showing up is usually the hardest part. But in my experience, it is also the only way real growth happens.
Then came the backend of the business. Figuring out the legal structure, tax setup, and compliance was confusing. I was afraid of doing it wrong, but I also knew I couldn’t afford to sit still. So I moved forward, learned as I went, and yes, made mistakes. There were moments I had to double back and fix things. That was frustrating. But I came to understand that this is part of building something real.
There were also distractions. Shiny new opportunities would pop up, and I had to resist the urge to chase them. I realized if I wanted to build something meaningful, I had to commit and keep going even when the results didn’t come overnight.
Each challenge has helped me build character, clarity, and confidence. Every struggle has helped shape the way I work today and I am grateful for all of it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Noble Signings?
Today, Noble Signings is a nationwide service that schedules notaries to close real estate and estate planning documents across the country. We specialize in making sure that when it’s time to sign, the experience is smooth, on time, and respectful of everyone’s effort leading up to that moment.
What sets us apart is our attention to the people behind the paperwork. We know how hard escrow officers, lenders, attorneys, and agents work to get their clients to the finish line. We make sure the notary they meet at the end reflects that same care and professionalism.
We’re most proud of the relationships we’ve built—both with our notaries and our clients. It’s not about being flashy. It’s about being consistent, clear, and easy to work with.
If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s this: a smooth closing doesn’t just happen. It’s built by a team of professionals who care. And we’re proud to play our part in making that final step something worth remembering.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I like to think that Noble Signings was built on a foundation of professionalism, consistency, and service. With a background in business operations and years of managing multiple locations for a national transportation company, I learned the value of clear communication and dependable systems. These lessons are now a core part of how we operate in the notary world.
Growing up as an athlete taught me discipline, focus, and the importance of showing up for others. These same values are present in every signing we coordinate. Our mission is to make the closing process smooth, reliable, and stress free for everyone involved.
Outside of work, I care about building relationships and supporting the community. I want to meet others in the industry, stay connected, and find ways to help people grow. Whether through strong partnerships or simply being someone others can count on, I believe in showing up and moving forward together.
