Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia W.
Hi Olivia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m the founder and CEO of Delicious Minimalist.
What can I say? I love desserts and to me cake is HAPPINESS! Cakes are the best surprise one can ever give to their friends, family, and close ones. Nothing is more special than a delicious cake kept on the table, and it instantly lights up the faces of all, bringing happiness and joy. Cakes bring people together! I wasn’t always a Pastry Chef. I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Broadcasting/Communications and Business Management and worked as a TV Entertainment Reporter in LA for one of the biggest Spanish TV networks in the US for 13 years until I voluntarily decided to retire, close that chapter and venture onto new life adventures. As a career women I feel incredibly blessed to have had then my dream job that I built with lots of sacrifices, it is not that I didn’t enjoy what I did but I felt in my heart that I needed to make room for new experiences. It wasn’t about “the job” or “the title” anymore, it was about my peace and happiness as a whole. I was told by many that I was going to regret leaving this career in my peek years. I feel very proud of my career accomplishments but I’ll tell you what I was going to regret later; not taking the chance and time to fulfill other goals.
I am a big believer of inner peace and happiness over everything; if you don’t like something change it, and I did. I said goodbye to a career that I will forever treasure and forever cherish but it was time to start something new.
One of my favorite quotes is “Success is not the key to happiness, Happiness is the key to success” and with that said to me happiness is the new success. The beauty of it is we all have the power to choose happy because happiness is a choice. Define success on your own terms, achieve it by your own rules, and build a life you’re proud to live.
I feel tremendously blessed and grateful for ALL the support I’ve gotten from my community, and I am thankful for those who are going along this ride with me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, my short career as a pastry chef has been a pretty fun and exciting ride. All of my life experiences have shaped me into the woman I am today. I’m still learning; I’m still growing and evolving. I’m thankful for everyone that has crossed my path throughout my life. The ones who left, the ones who stayed, the ones that are still meant to cross it.
I feel that everything in life falls into place at the right moment. I am very blessed to have the opportunity to start another career from scratch and I’m really going at my own pace. I love what I do, and I’m happy. I’m at a very peaceful place in my life. I feel incredibly blessed to connect with amazing genuine people who support my baking journey and cheer me up.
I’ve built and I continue to keep building an incredible clientele base who trust me for their special events and I look forward to meeting more wonderful and amazing people.
There is so much more to learn, experience, achieve but most importantly enjoy.
We’ve been impressed with Delicious Minimalist, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
This is a new modern direction in confectionery art which came to the US from the premium pastry shops of France and Italy. These mousse cakes are multi-part, very delicate and exquisite cakes. They are very light and airy. The correct technology is obtained with specific education and which I have graduated from various courses in Italy and France to bring the best flavors and quality to my clients. All of our cakes are meticulously handcrafted, therefore each cake shines on its own uniqueness. Truly this cakes are edible art!
