Today we’d like to introduce you to Marty Ruiz.
Hi Marty, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am 19 years old. My name is Martin, but I go by Marty and I recently just started my notary business. The reason I am here today is because ironically, both of my sisters took their notary exam and they both ended up failing so that’s when something in sparked and I thought to myself like it can’t be that hard and it’s funny because my parents paid for everything for them so I decided that I was gonna take the notary exam and I pay for everything myself. I did everything on my own. I took the test and I passed it and boom. I became a licensed notary and I kind of did it out of spite because I was like wow like both of y’all felt it like it can’t be that hard and I did it and I prove them wrong and it’s cool about it. I did it all on my own with my own money. Eventually, I became an NSA and got my signing agent certificate so I’ve been working a lot with signing closing documents. Not only am I a notary and I am an agent, but I am also a content creator on social media. I enjoy posting on TikTok and YouTube and I have gotten a couple of million views on my videos before even the attention from popular brands. I would eventually love to do social media full-time and have that mostly be my main source of income with YouTube videos, brand deals, sponsorships, etc. so I have my notary business. I also do social media on the side. I’m a very hungry and determined person, and I truly would not accept. I do not deserve.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
it honestly has been pretty smooth. I’ve been doing everything on my own trying to figure it out. No one has really told me how to do this. I’m learning how to do these authorizations on my own or as time comes I’m just getting better at it when it comes to social media, I just look at it as a humiliation ritual like I just gotta put myself out there and like someone will notice me and see me unlike me I just think to myself like how did these Youtubers become who they are you know like they got on the Internet they posted videos of themselves and they didn’t care people thought and other people sat down and watch them so when it comes to social media, I just like put myself out there and I don’t think twice and I posted it The whole editing process is self-taught but I would say mostly everything I do. I just learn my own figure out.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Elite Mobile Notaries ?
you should know that I am a 19 year-old notary and signing agent. I typically do any notarizations since I am assigning agent. I’ve been doing a lot of closing documents so it’s typically mostly what I do. I’m honestly proud of my brand because like it’s all just me like I created the name I created a business cards. It’s my license. I’m technically self-employed like I have to find my own clients. I am currently looking into getting with a company or a branch so bigger things to come soon. Hopefully once I’m under like a company, but for the most part like it’s all just me and I definitely do need to put myself more out there and notarize other different types of documents because like for example I know there could be like marriage documents like I’ve never done anything like that before I mostly do like home documents I would say for like home loans. I would want my readers to know that my brand is definitely evolving overtime. I’m young and I’m learning and I would like to learn with my clients and honestly expand my pallet in all different types of notarizations.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I think the most important lesson to learn from my journey is to honestly just like get up and do it and like don’t care what anyone thinks put yourself out there sit down do it and get it done I think it is also really important to learn boundaries. It’s always important to have a set of boundaries and one that’s really important lesson. I’ve learned along my journey. It’s a really just sit down and absorb as much as you can like. I’m truly learning every single day
