Today we’d like to introduce you to Marie Wryn

Hi Marie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, I started my real estate career at 19 with Jon Douglas Company in Beverly Hills. From there I moved to Stan Herman & Associates, later known as Stan Herman, Stephen Shapiro & Associates in Beverly Hills. Stan Herman was a boutique real estate firm, known for its entertainment industry clientele and specializing in high end properties in the Platinum Triangle. After taking a hiatus to raise my kids, I have rediscovered my first love… Architecture. I had always respected and admired Crosby Doe for his professionalism and his love and knowledge of architecture and I am honored to have been welcomed to his firm.I specialize in a select group of clients that are not just looking for a house, but a piece of art that they can call home

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Reinventing yourself is never easy but I think as I’ve gotten older it’s become more important to spend more time in the pre planning phase. To take the time to do some soul searching and narrow down what I love and what is most important to me. After taking the time to do that, there was no doubt that this was the path i wanted to take. I’ve always been a Westside agent so expanding into the valley has involved a lot of learning about all of the amazing architecture in the valley. It’s also been very exciting to research and discover the architecture and expand our firm’s visibility in the San Fernando valley..

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a real estate agent specializing in architecture. My real estate license is hung with Crosby Doe Associates. I am currently expanding our reach further into the San Fernando valley. I have a good eye for architecture and love researching and finding undiscovered gems. I am proud to have joined Crosby Doe’s firm since he has been the preeminent expert in architecture for the past 50 years. His love of architecture, his honesty, and his laid back sales approach have been something that I’ve always admired. I am honored that he feels that my values align with his and that I can be one of the small group of agents he accepts into his firm that share his vision.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I learned that any patterns that could predict the future were totally upended during Covid. Not just that a major pandemic could happen and we would have to stay in our homes but that the real estate market and the economy would be unpredictable in ways that I had never seen before in my lifetime.
