Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Founder of The Root Remedy. The Root Remedy was created during the pandemic to help with my mental and emotional clarity. During the pandemic, I got sick and turned to natural ingredients to help cure my symptoms (my family is Jamaican-Panamanian and Native so these remedies came naturally). I noticed a lack of diversity in health and beauty brands on the shelves. Another problem I noticed was that competitor gummy formulas were filled with sugars and GMOs. I then found a manufacturer to create a sugar-free, vegan, and non-GMO gummy supplement with ingredients that support a healthy glow from the inside out. And just like that, The Root Remedy was born. Our goal is to create inclusivity around self-care and beauty that starts from within.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My small business journey has had so many ups and downs. From sleepless nights to maxed-out credit cards to learning how to launch into a major retailer without prior knowledge, it has not been easy. Although it’s been tough, running a small business is the best personal development journey I could have asked for. I’ve changed my mindset around money, business, and my overall confidence level has gone up tremendously. I thank God for the journey he has put me on and I’m blessed to be able to share it with everyone around me.

Our goal is to bring inclusivity, diversity, and mental health advocacy to the “beauty from within” space.

At The Root Remedy, we partner and sponsor outreach events with black-owned non-profit organizations like JOY-DAY that help people understand what’s going on with their mental health and better cope with their day-to-day. Our goal is to bring awareness and representation to the mental health industry through partnerships, resources, and community advocacy.
