Exploring Life & Business with Leticia Barth of DaTerra Charcuterie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leticia Barth.

Hi Leticia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m originally from Brazil, divorced, mom of three beautiful children, and have been in the restaurant industry for over 30 years. Food has always been part of who I am, it’s how I connect with people, share my culture, and show love.
DaTerra Charcuterie was born during the Covid pandemic, at a time when everything felt uncertain and many of us had to find new ways to create and adapt. I wanted to offer something that could still bring people together, even if we couldn’t gather the same way. That’s how I started making individual charcuterie boards and boxes. Beautiful, thoughtful portions that people could enjoy safely while celebrating any special occasion.
What began as a small idea grew quickly. People loved the concept, and soon I was creating large grazing tables for weddings, graduations, and corporate events, from intimate gatherings to celebrations with hundreds of guests. It’s been such an amazing journey to see how something that started during such a challenging moment has evolved into a business that helps people celebrate life and share joy through food.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting DaTerra Charcuterie during the pandemic came with many challenges. I had to figure out everything on my own, from running the business to finding new ways to connect with people in such uncertain times. There were moments when I felt lost and doubted myself, but each challenge taught me something and made me stronger.

Then, in 2022, my world was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was one of the most difficult times of my life emotionally, physically, and professionally. Balancing treatments, family, and the business wasn’t easy, but I was surrounded by love and support, and that kept me going.

Today, I’m beyond grateful to be healthy and here, sharing my story. Those struggles changed me, they gave me a deeper appreciation for life, for resilience, and for the community that continues to support DaTerra. Every obstacle made this journey more meaningful.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about DaTerra Charcuterie ?
DaTerra Charcuterie is all about creating beautiful, fresh, and delicious experiences that bring people together, from intimate dinners and birthdays to weddings, corporate events, and large celebrations.
What makes us different is the care and love that goes into every creation. Each board is handcrafted with attention to color, texture, and flavor, using high-quality ingredients that not only taste amazing but also look stunning. I like to think of our food as a way to tell a story, something elegant, thoughtful, and joyful.
What I’m most proud of is how the brand has grown through personal connections and word of mouth. Every event is unique, and I love working closely with clients to design something that reflects their vision. More than just food, DaTerra is about creating moments, celebrating life, love, and togetherness in a way that feels special and memorable.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has played a part in my journey, especially starting DaTerra Charcuterie during the pandemic. I feel fortunate that people embraced the idea, but it’s really been hard work, persistence, and passion that have helped the business grow. A little luck, combined with determination, has made all the difference.
