Exploring Life & Business with Jeda Voice of 8TH MOON

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeda Voice

Hi Jeda , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I was young I knew I was different from other kids, I got my start in music at church, singing in choirs, then I started writing a lot and coming to my own so I wanted to start recording my own music so in jr high I started recording with DJ Beamon by 9th grade i told myself i would be called “JEDA VOICE” by then I ended up in a crew called “California warriors” with Stevie crooks and we started recording with rj fullrange in his house and then I had my first show at the Moreno Valley mall, and at that time I was in the 10th grade. And thru out high school I just wanted to really be a song writer I guess the good thing is that I knew how to sing to my own music. I definitely got influence from “The Dream”. After high school I went straight to LA and start doing shows and selling tickets to get people to come see me perform and by then people would call me a phenom and we still were burning cd’s and selling them outside of walmart. I started to get a name for myself and I ended up streaming over 1.5 million times on SoundCloud and having my records on the radio in the US,UK and Japan as an independent artist. That is such an accomplishment. But, also it came with a lot of pain in my life. I have experienced some of the most traumatic experiences and it was very difficult to let people in and share those things, everybody just wanted to party everybody loved Jeda with the alcohol and the women. But, I don’t think people really saw me, and it started to feel like I was at war but, at war with myself because I didn’t know how to channel into my higher self at the time. Growing up I was told I wouldn’t be great at anything, and not having a father around really challenged me mentally so I would automatically go into that negative feeling. Until one day I felt like enough is enough, I’m a powerful black man with so much to offer this world I need to give myself a shot and i refuse to be in any negative talk EVER. So, I bought a camera one day, it was really just therapy. I didn’t know anything about photography or videos all I knew is that I wanted to feel better and also try something new. I ended up taking my camera to a celebrity basketball game and this lady that runs Chocolate Sundays at the Laugh Factory off sunset blvd name “Loni Mackey Crooks” she gave me my first job as a professional. FYI I did not know anything about pics, but, as time went I became obsessed with wanting to learn and know how it all works. Everyday I would spend time educating myself and teaching myself how to take pictures. All while I was working for various companies. I worked so much that I never had enough energy to continue to do my own thing. So, I quit my job and to remind you I had 3 raises that year in my other job and I was ok , I was in a great position but it wasn’t enough and I had enough. I started a company in 2018 called “8TH MOON” and I really had to decide what 8th moon was and at first it was going to be for artists and entertainers because I was carrying on what I “knew”. Then as I talked to a mentor at the time “Brandon Shot Me”and he actually asked me why don’t I shoot for brands ? And I never thought about it that way, instantly my focus went to another level, and now I have worked with so many brands, to name a few “Truly, chefs from “bbq showdown” on Netflix, multiple restaurants, hospitals” it was just changing my mindset and taking action I like being an action figure, and helping companies with content and consulting them on there journey to success. There was a time I felt rejected by the world until I changed my mind,

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A lot of times we are up against ourselves and even up against different versions of ourselves. As we grow and develop into new versions of ourselves it also comes with a lot of pain. Growing pains. Sometimes with that growth you might lose people along the way, people that you really care about and even people that you can’t see yourself living without. When you go after the desires of your heart that might conflict with the outside world around you.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
8TH MOON is a production company that specializes in videos and photos for small businesses. Our story began because as entrepreneurs we realized there were limited resources for small businesses who needed help with brand marketing. We tell our clients “Your Vision, Your Legacy” what that means to us is more than just marketing a product or service. We are story-tellers for the hard-working everyday business owners who follow their dreams every day by working hard to help their families and community. Therefore, because we saw lack of resources or access, we decided to create 8TH MOON that is for the people to help the people share their journey and inspire and connect with the world.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I dream big and I strive for generational change. I’m willing to go through whoever and whatever to obtain that goal. I have faith in myself and anything that I set myself to do is going to happen. It has worked for me so far. As I live in this life, I realize there’s few people who are willing to do that or even have the courage. Some people are not willing to look deep inside themselves to make the changes to obtain the things that they desire. That’s where I become an example.
