Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was formerly a freelance makeup artist in Hollywood. I met my husband Tommy when I moved to Ventura. We have 3 amazing kids. I decided to become an esthetician after raising my boys. I took a chance and rented out my first place in downtown, Ventura before graduated esthetics school or passing the state board exam! Thankfully, I passed and the rest has been history. It’s been a successful adventure going solo. When you love what you do, it’s not work. It’s a fun passion. I’m always learning and love to take courses on Esthetics online whenever I can. The industry is always teaching us something new when it comes to beauty.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. I thought I was on top of the world prior to COVID. Being a solo esthetician and self employed has taught me to always be prepared. I thought I was going to lose my business for awhile there. However, slowly, my clients returned and I moved to a bigger location in midtown, Ventura. It has allowed me to expand and buy more equipment.

La Piel Esthetics Spa started in downtown, Ventura in a beautiful ,but very small room. I have expanded to midtown and love my location. I specialize in Microcurrent Facials, Dermaplane, Microdermabrasion, Peels, Oxygen, Rezenerate and Zemits Facials. The products I use are Sorella Apothecary, Le Mieux and an organic line, DNA . I like to end a facial with tea, lemon water or maybe even a glass of wine. I have a very peaceful seating area where my clients are able to rest and unwind.
