
Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Monique
Angela, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I worked as a Public Servant from 2004 to 2021. From 2016 to 2020, I was responsible for planning and managing large-scale events and non-profits from start to finish. I trained myself without any mentorship whatsoever, mastering the process of securing permits, coordinating vendors, creating timelines and floor plans, and ultimately producing and managing large-scale events. This became my passion and something I excelled at naturally.
Just before the COVID outbreak, I sustained a back and neck injury from a fall at work. By that point, I had already planned two weddings for fun and had the opportunity to plan one of my best friend’s weddings. After the success of her wedding, I was hooked. I consider myself hardworking and dedicated to chasing my dreams and making them a reality. After a season of mentorships with other planners, I knew I was ready to take the plunge and officially launched my own business, Events by Angela Monique, LLC, in December 2022.
My husband, Brandon, has always supported me and my dreams. Initially, the plan was for him to assist me with weddings until I was ready to hire additional support. Two years later, he is still by my side, assisting me on wedding days. We work well together as life partners and business partners. Our love and support for one another allow us to give our clients a seamless wedding day. Together, we have built a reputation for providing our couples with a stress-free and seamless wedding experience.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My life has been filled with many struggles, obstacles, and temporary setbacks. I endured careers I hated and let others influence how I felt about myself. Yet, every setback and disappointment has made me stronger and led me to where I am today, living my best life. I have never been happier, both personally and professionally. Through hard work, persistence, and self-belief, I have built a successful business doing what I love most. My greatest lesson has been refusing to live in fear and letting go of the “what if it doesn’t work out” mindset.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Planning tea parties for my barbie dolls and cabbage patch kids.
