Today we’d like to introduce you to Aluminea.
Hi Aluminea, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my private practice Blossoming Lotus in 2011 in Long Beach, CA. I served that community until 2015 when I moved my practice to Seal Beach, CA. I opened a second location on Kauai in 2019. I became pregnant in the same year, and after experiencing DV with my partner at that time and then Covid, I lost everything: both locations of my practice, my dreams of a two parent family, and my community. After my son was born I moved to Hawaii full time to live off grid. While it was wonderful living so connected with nature, I was also very isolated from the wellness community as I could no longer afford to go to a yoga class (childcare costs, transportation costs, and the cost of the class). I meditated daily and asked my guides how I could be of highest service to the collective next, and the vision for Heart Space Sanctuary came through soon after. I envisioned donation based, family friendly wellness centers everywhere. And so, myself and our other two co-founders Kevin Harvey and Keegan Brady started bringing this movement of unconditional love to each of our local communities. Our currently location is in Laguna Beach, CA.
We are currently forming a flagship program to help single moms find work and their local villages.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a winding beautiful mountain road with May peaks and valleys.

Heart Space Sanctuary is a 508c1a, or non-profit religious organization. We are non-denominational and believe that if we lead with love and explore how we can love ourselves and others unconditionally that we can elevate our families and communities. We offer practices that have helped us connect inward to our hearts and our organic intelligence such as breathwork, meditation, cacao ceremonies, sound journeys, and reiki. We open our doors to our communities, both virtually and in Laguna Beach, and create space for our members to share what makes their heart feel most alive.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The artistic open minded and open hearted people and the incredible sacred land and oceans that we have the privilege to connect with.
Due to population density, there is a lot of energy moving quickly and a lot of distractions in the form of people and businesses vying for attention and motivated by money alone.
