Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia, “Crafted Bird”.
Hi Mia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My exposure to Vaginal Steaming started in 2012 while I was living in South Korea. It was a brand new concept to my friends and I and was something cool for us to do. We would get steams almost every time we went to the Jimjilbang, which was A LOT! After moving back to the states, I gave birth to my daughter in 2016 and found myself not having health care for a number of months. I also wasn’t able to attend my post birth OBGYN appointment so I didn’t see a doctor for at least a year after giving birth. The only form of reproductive care I had was steaming. And it honestly was kind of by chance that I fell back into the practice of steaming. But by not being able to go to the doctor, I figured something (steaming) was better than nothing. After steaming for some months, I realized I was having beneficial results and decided to really learn about the history and benefits of what vaginal steaming could do for people. I became certified in 2017 and steamed a few people here and there over the next few years. In 2020, I decided to extend my knowledge and solidify what I was doing by furthering my training in the practice. I had helped many women with their period symptoms during that time and knew what I was doing was something of service. I am currently working on becoming a Peristeam Hydrotherapist and looking into solidifying a permanent location to serve as a home for VSteamy.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth? HA!! Nah! As I mentioned, I gave birth and then had to drop everything in the course of three days to move back across the country with a three-week old. So the journey of this all starts there. When I became certified, I wanted nothing more than to go full throttle into steaming people and getting the word out, however, I had no place of my own and was really working to get back on my feet mentally, financially, and emotionally. The struggle was very multi-level and it took a while to get things in working order enough to be able to focus on steaming as a business. Four years to be exact.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I steam women, girls, AND men. Through my knowledge and continued study, I’ve used the steaming to alleviate cramps, expel clots, fix dryness, eliminate odor, clear urination issues, lessen pain due to inflammation and help various circulation issues for numerous women. Through the VSteamy steam sessions and consultations, I’ve been a part of the womb health and fertility journey of many women. The sessions have helped a client shrink her fibroids; have helped another woman bring her period and ovulation back while having PCOS and having on and off periods for months; and the consultations has helped a friend with PCOS conceive without medication in three months. I take a lot of pride in what I do and the level of knowledge I invest in learning continuously. I don’t do steam parties. I don’t serve alcohol during my sessions. And I dont use plastic “equipment.” That’s not my lane. I steam people with the purpose of healing. Steaming is not a “cute” pastime in my eyes, it is a way to heal the bodies of women (& men) who are under attack physically and mentally (whether they realize it or not). I offer In-Person Steam Sessions, Womb Healing Consultations, and Getting Started with Vaginal Steaming Consultations worldwide to get more people steaming on a regular basis in their own homes. Both Consultations are currently virtual services. We steam girls as young as 13 all the way through Menopause and we even steam men which in Sanskrit is referred to as “Lingam Steaming.” Men steam for issues with Erectile Dysnfunction, prostate health, bladder issues, and overall circulation and blood flow issues. VSteamy is a brand of purpose and service. We do our best to help and promote healing.
