Exploring Life & Business with Electra Gustafsson of Electra’s Eyes Film Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Electra Gustafsson.

Hi Electra, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
It all started in Sweden where I was born, creating independent short films and it continued to the USA where I am currently based in the heart of Hollywood. At first, I personally wanted to be a Producer and Director but then I wanted it to be more and now in this upcoming year 2021, the plan is to open it up as a company.

I did not start with a lot of equipment or resources so made the best of what I could and reached out to a lot of people. In the beginning, it was difficult but I kept going and found talent who wanted to collaborate and create as well. By exploring opportunities and talking about how teamwork makes the dream work, the list of artists and crew members started to grow.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would not say it’s been a smooth road since it’s already difficult being a young woman in this industry but also taking the responsibility of going to a foreign country alone without knowing anyone. Finding the right kind of connections and to be able to create content when there was times of no budget at all was difficult as well.

We’ve been impressed with Electra’s Eyes Film Company, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Electra’s Eyes provides full cast and crew with treatments, budget plans and everything needed to execute a production. They are displayed on a YouTube Channel that was created in 2016. Even in this first month of the new year releases will be available. What I want from the company is to bring in more females in the industry and create content that matters and stand out. It will focus on new creative ideas that haven’t been seen before and ways to bring in different cultures.

What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is creating art to express emotions or issues that have been misunderstood or not been seen enough of. I love hearing what kind of impact it has on the viewers and what they would choose to see more of.
