Exploring Life & Business with Deon Crockett of Fly Crockett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deon Crockett.

Hi Deon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Fly Crockett, LLC is a male-  founded brand started by Deon Crockett. Fly is the nickname of my father and Crockett [being the name of myself] is put together to come up with the name FlyCrockett. Also, being called FlyCrockett is from close friends of mines because the way I dress. FlyCrockett consist of a natural skincare brand, clothing brand and one day become a record label. I want to have FlyCrockett in every category someday, not just the ones I named. Skincare is the main focus of FlyCrockett right now [FlyCrockettskincare]. I started May 2019 with one product and I now have seven products with several unreleased products.

I launched my website Nov 20, 2020 {FlyCrockett.com} and everything being going great. Taking care of your skin is more important than covering it up. Skincare is not just for women. MEN need skincare too. That’s why I’m here to change the way people think of skincare by providing healthy and cruelty-free skincare products that’s great for our planets and us. From using natural products to making my own natural products, I’ve always done whatever remedy to keep my face clear. I’ve dealt with dry skin and dry scalp my entire life. Enough was enough! I needed to know what could I do to keep both (skin and scalp) hydrated and moist. From using lotion, hair grease and other products, nothing was working. So, I founded FlyCrockett Skincare. A brand that focus on the meaning of natural by bringing you confidence with ten or less ingredients.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I started with my first product which was a moisturizer that I was using for my face and hair. I gave samples to my cousin, auntie, mom and sister. They were actually my testers that became my first customers. That’s when I knew I had a product on my hand. For the first two months, all my customers were family members. It was times I wanted to give up because things were moving slowly due to non-sales and lack of support. It’s people in the world that you think will support you because of the relationship you guys have will not support you. But I didn’t let that stop me, I started talking more about the product, using social media and investing in myself. I had weekly talks with my mentor about what I want to pursue and what goals I want to reach. I started to focus on different age groups and their needs. Once the Covid pandemic hit, it completely slowed me down but also sped me up. During the time, it gave me time to really think ahead about what’s next. And from there, I didn’t let that affect my business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Someone who gathers and uses research and evidence, making a hypothesis and testing it [Scientist] —Exactly what I label myself. Skincare is not just for women. MEN need skincare too! I’m a CEO of a multimillion-dollar brand in the making. I’m an influencer and a trendsetter. I change people’s lives by giving them that confidence that’s been missing from them. I feel like I’m one of a kind, there’s no one in the world like me. Everything I do, I do it from the heart. I’m really proud that I can give people confidence and inspiration on what I do. That’s why anything I do from social media to in person, I make sure it’s positive because I have people that look up to me or get some type of inspiration from what I do. FlyCrockettskincare is here to give you confidence with ten or less ingredients. No matter where you are in your skincare journey, remember your skin is good with or without acne.

What are your plans for the future?
I plan on making more natural products, collaborating with other business that helps the planets. I’m looking forward to building me a team, getting me a warehouse to make products in, move inventory, etc., getting my products inside several stores while making everything affordable so everyone can have a chance to use FlyCrockett. And with God, I know that I can do that. I’m being patience, I’m remaining humble, my time is coming.
