Today we’d like to introduce you to Trippy Beamin.
Hi Trippy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Originally from Baltimore, MD. I am part of a Music Band and Clothing Brand, Against The Grain. I started recording music with my brothers; Eazy Beamin and Raul Beamin in college. Being around them in the studio was very inspiring and understanding how much time and effort went into creating projects was super beneficial. With the music and merchandise going hand in hand we have our hands full but I love the fact that our music and clothing has had a ton of support from the very beginning. Just utilizing resources and building relationships has been key to my elevation. Right now I have put out one solo EP titled, “Against the Gravity” and many singles/features.
This year I plan to produce and put out much more music and continue to promote the clothing brand as well. I am currently working on my second EP. My single “Game Over” is out now on all platforms. This single is from my next EP is titled, “Sex, Drugs & Video Games” All of the songs are about a time in my life where those were my top influences. It was totally a fun time and the music I made during that time exemplifies that. I’m excited to put the project together and get it out it to the world. My sound is versatile, vibrant and fun. It’s a good balance between rap and a melodic flow. I have a song that fits every vibe.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I wouldn’t say the road has been smooth. There has been many struggles. One thing that has been a major barrier is balancing both music and clothing. In anything that I participate in, I try my best to give my all but I noticed that what I was lacking was proper planning and preparation. Sometimes rushing a project to stay consistent but losing quality in that action. Working my way through having rollout plans for all projects has been a very essential strategy to help me get over this barrier.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am part of a music band and clothing brand. I specialize and making diverse music and vibrant streetwear clothing. One thing that I am most proud of is unconditional support from everyone that I have received up until his point. It is truly amazing how people all over the world can relate to my music and wear Against The Grain clothing. Not because I told them to but because they genuinely enjoy it.
What matters most to you? Why?
Remaining authentic is what matters most to me. I think that in the digital era that we live in; it’s easy to get lost in looking at what others have done or are currently doing. I strongly believe that it’s a greater accomplishment to do what you love and promote yourself as the person you really are instead of wearing a mask and trying to fit into social constructs. It can take away from your creativity and without that, I am lost. So I continue to remain authentic in every aspect of my work.
