Daily Inspiration: Meet Tiffeny Wilson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffeny Wilson.

Hi Tiffeny, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started playing the piano and taking lessons when I was 10 years old and fell in love with playing music. Especially classical. I wrote a lot of poetry in elementary school and started writing songs when I was around the age of 13. I remember loving it, the feeling of expressing myself through words, and rhyming. How the words sounded, and flowed together. It was exciting to me. Throughout high school and college, I continued playing the piano, composing music, and writing songs. I became very passionate about it, and it stuck with me. I was always very artsy. I studied Dance in college and graduated with a bachelor’s in fine arts. After college, I decided I wanted to continue writing songs, and I took it more seriously. Since then, I wrote and recorded an EP titled My Heart, as well as other singles such as Cool Warm Breeze, and This Road. I composed all of the music and wrote all of the lyrics. I love writing meaningful lyrics, as well as composing melodies. I performed at many different venues throughout the New York and New Jersey area, and I am currently working on my first full album, Lullabies.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road haha! The most challenging part for me was the financial aspect of it all. Money for studio space to record in, production, hair/make up/wardrobe for performances, a team for music videos, photo shoots, promo and marketing, pretty much everything. I have been a Singer-Songwriter for about 10 years now, and I have paid out of pocket, and have done everything myself except for production. I even produced one of my songs called Cool Warm Breeze. I was grateful enough to work with friends, and friends of friends, who believed in my art and didn’t charge me what producers should professionally make. I remember running in heels to a show in the rain, doing my hair & makeup in a dark corner without a mirror, and getting on stage living my life. Every other aspect, the creative process, writing, recording, flowed very smoothly. Sometimes I would record a full song in 1 or 2 takes.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Singer-Songwriter. What sets me apart from others is that I play the piano, compose all of my music, and write all of my lyrics. I am known for my unique, sultry, and powerful voice. Another thing that sets me apart is that I operate from a place of gratitude, and I value authenticity. I care deeply about people. My goal as an Artist is to connect emotionally with people through my songs and resonate with the souls of others. Transcending peace, and a vibe through art. Music can be so healing and it’s very powerful. I am not chasing fame, numbers, or money. Of course, I would love to be compensated well for my work, but the main point of why I do what I do is because I love it. Music and creating music is very special to me.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I would love to read more lol! It’s something that I am trying to make more time to do. I wear a lot of different hats within the entertainment industry, so I’m always multitasking a million things. I love the author Paulo Coelho. One of my favorite books of his is The Alchemist.
