Daily Inspiration: Meet Tawny Rodriguez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tawny Rodriguez.

Tawny, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a lifestyle & wedding photographer who loves capturing golden light and authentic happiness! I have always been obsessed with taking pictures and fascinated with photography. It started off as a hobby about 10 years ago when my first daughter was born. It quickly lead me down a path where I just became obsessed with photography and invested in my first “real” camera.

I am definitely not a posed photographer; my photos are more candid, interaction-based and will not always be perfectly framed. I truly love to embrace the chaos, capture the raw love and let the kids be kids!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Honestly, I am so thankful and blessed that my photography business has taken off like it has. I really do have the best clients that continue to support me and my business year after year!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
To me, good photography is about capturing a moment in a way that forces us to freeze time. Especially during my family sessions, I realize that kids grow up so fast, and it is so important to capture those special childhood moments. During these sessions, there are always belly laughs, piggyback rides, snuggles, singing, tickles, and nose rubs!

I also absolutely LOVE wedding photography! Being a wedding photographer is about more just taking photos throughout the day. To me, it’s capturing all those in-between moments that otherwise would have been forgotten.
I love that no single wedding is alike. I get to meet different people, shoot at different venues, and have a different experiences each time. Unlike family sessions, I have little control over the light conditions and timing, and I certainly can’t reschedule if it rains or the sunlight is a little more harsh than I’d like – so photography is always challenging me to adapt and work under different conditions.

It is truly such an honor to be able to capture wedding memories that a couple will cherish for the rest of their lives. I try my best to capture all the details, no matter how big or small, and put them together into a wedding story, their wedding story, that they can relive time and time again.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Most of my photography is done in Santa Clarita and the Valley. I absolutely love using the gorgeous landscapes that California has to offer – from the high deserts to the low tides at my favorite beaches!
