Daily Inspiration: Meet Dr. Tasha Rose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Tasha Rose

Hi Dr. Tasha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a young girl, I have always felt the pain of others and wanted to help.  I have always attracted individuals who wanted to talk no matter where I was, be it a supermarket, gym, party, sports, or professional outing. Over time I began to see that I was not only good at listening and giving suggestions when asked, but I enjoyed helping people through tough times. It didn’t matter where I was, there was always someone who wanted to spill their heart out to me and I truly appreciate the opportunity to help someone find their sense of self.

God has always been a focal part of my gift and He always allowed me to see into people’s spirits even as a young girl. I could see individuals falling apart while they had what everyone else felt was everything. I felt their spirits and sometimes God would tell me to speak with them but on most occasions, they would locate me and tell me things that they would question the purpose of them telling me their problems.

I originally went to college on a scholarship for Electrical Engineering and after year one I returned home and became a mom. I re enrolled in college and received my paralegal certification and worked in the field for 10 years. I began to become interested in psychology in 2007 due to many conversations I had with individuals. I realized that women were not only dealing with spiritual warfare but, also mental warfare and I wanted to tap into those places because although God is our provider, He still gives us tools that can help us a well. I decided to return to school for Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2010 and fell in love with the way the brain imports and exports information and when there are malfunctions in the brain it leads to trauma internally and externally. I attained my Doctorate in Health Science with a certification in Advanced Trauma spring 2024.

I began counseling families and individuals in 2013 and found that even those who didn’t go to church or understand scripture wanted to believe in something eternal. I have never branded myself as a spiritual counselor however, God continued to place individuals who wanted a spiritual counselor, and in 2019 Let’s Talk About It Counseling Services, LLC was created. Although I just had the name I was still working in nonprofits and corporations. God had directed the right people to me and I continued to be ready to serve them. I know God continues to bless me with the spiritual knowledge and guidance as well as the formal education to guide and help my clients to create a new version of themselves that is not only acceptable to themselves but a life that is acceptable to God.

So in 2023 God told me to leave my stable employment and depend solely on Him and on January 3, 2024 I went into private practice and He has been showing off even more!! All I can say is my career I am a counselor but my gift is from GOD!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. The journey of building my private practice and expanding my work in the community has come with many challenges. I’ve struggled with securing resources, managing finances, and navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. At times, balancing my passion for helping others with the realities of running a business has been overwhelming. However, despite the struggles, this journey has been the most rewarding experience of my life. Every challenge has pushed me to grow, and seeing the impact of my work—helping women heal, empowering communities, and bridging the gap between faith and mental health—makes it all worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Black woman. trauma-focused therapist, speaker, and trainer dedicated to helping women heal holistically through faith-based psychotherapy. As the owner and CEO of Let’s Talk About It Counseling Services, LLC, I specialize in addressing complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and emotional intelligence, integrating biblical principles with clinical interventions. My work extends beyond individual therapy. I provide training for church leaders, educators, and businesses on trauma, mental health, and emotional wellness.

I’m known for my transparent and relatable approach, often referring to myself as ‘your transparent Sista in women’s healing.’ I create spaces where healing feels safe, engaging, and transformative, whether through therapy, workshops, or speaking engagements.

What are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of the impact my work has on the women and communities I serve. Seeing clients and participants grow in self-awareness, embrace healing, and transform their lives is the greatest reward. I’m also incredibly proud of my journey earning my doctorate, building my private practice, hosting impactful events, and creating a curriculum on complex trauma for K-12 schools. Each milestone reflects years of dedication and faith.

What sets you apart from others?

What sets me apart is my ability to merge faith and therapy in a way that feels both authentic and practical. I don’t just provide clinical interventions. I offer a healing experience that speaks to the mind, body, and spirit. My personal story, my transparency, and my deep connection to the communities I serve allow me to create a space where people feel seen, heard, and empowered. I’m not just a therapist; I’m an advocate, a mentor, and a healer who walks this journey alongside those I serve.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest advice is to stay committed to your vision, even when the road gets tough. Entrepreneurship, especially in the mental health field, requires patience, resilience, and faith. There will be moments of doubt, financial struggles, and times when you question if you’re making the right choice but keep going. The impact you’re meant to make is greater than the challenges you face.

I also wish I had understood the importance of building a strong support system early on. Surround yourself with mentors, peers, and people who genuinely want to see you succeed. Invest in continuous learning, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

What has kept me going, even in the hardest moments, is my faith, my mother, and my daughters. Losing my father five years ago was one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced, but instead of letting it break me, it became a source of motivation. His passing reminded me of the importance of living with purpose and not giving up on my dreams. My faith keeps me grounded, my mother’s strength inspires me, and my daughters remind me every day why I do this work to build a legacy of healing, resilience, and empowerment.
