Daily Inspiration: Meet Tania Birker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tania Birker.

Hi Tania, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My passion for the events and entertainment industry all started back in 2007 when I produced my first fashion and rock show as a fundraiser for an orphanage. I was obsessed with music and art and the events that brought these communities together. This is where my soul thrived and where I found most of my inspiration. Although I studied Architecture in high school and college, it led me down a different creative path where my fire was ignited.

I love to inspire people to believe in themselves. Some of my happiest moments were from curating and producing events that brought people together to connect. It was undeniable that this is what I was meant to do.

In 2016 my career really started to take off on a more professional level. I was producing mini one-night festivals in different large cities across the nation featuring a wide range of all kinds of artists. I did it all; scouting, booking, curating, producing, creating production schedules and floor plans, managing the artists, hiring staff, working with the venues, and stage management. It was never a dull moment.

After a few years, I wanted to take things to the next level, and that’s when I found VOX DJs. I have worn many hats in the 4+ years I’ve been with the company: Event Specialist, Community + Social Media Manager, Booking Representative, and am also a Partner.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In my experience, anytime I have tried to pursue a dream, the road was never smooth. There will always be learning experiences and challenges along the way. Not to mention lots of mistakes. Especially when you didn’t go to school to learn this type of skill. Being self-taught opened up many roads. The most important thing I have learned thus far in this industry is to always be flexible and be a creative problem solver.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently, my most prominent role at VOX DJs is a Booking Representative. I’m part of a team that books over a thousand events a year on behalf of the company. We work on a wide range of private and public events from weddings, mitzvahs, engagements, holidays, corporate, brand activations, birthdays, sports, festivals, music, art, non-profits, networking, community, gaming, live streaming, TV/Movies, etc.

I help create a customized experience for our clients; from the moment they call us, to creating their vision, to making sure I have the dream team prepared to deliver a successful event. I’m most proud of the personal connections I can make with anyone. I love to be part of someone else’s happiness and producing events has been the most magical way to do that. Creating an experience is more than just for one night, it’s for a lifetime.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is being part of someone’s positive experience. We live in a world that relies heavily on technology that we sometimes forget how special and inspiring a personal connection can be through a shared experience. Through experience, we are able to continue evolving as individuals as well as a community.
