Daily Inspiration: Meet Tally Safdie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tally Safdie

Tally, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My passion for photography started as a progression from my career in education. After completing my bachelors degree from UCLA, I pursued a master degree in education. I became an educator and later on a school administrator, and the most rewarding part of my job,.. was always my interaction with the school kids and parents. I loved creating art curriculums that allow me to express my creative side. Since a young age, I was always involved in the arts, I did drawing and painting and some photography.
After giving birth to my own three
children, I wanted to capture every precious moment of them growing up. I decided to embark on a professional photography career by taking classes with different professors. Since I love babies, I decided to focus primarily on pregnancy and newborn babies, later on I started doing families as well. I have been doing professional photography for the past 8 years and I am blessed to be able to do what I love and make so many families happy with my creative services.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Pregnancy and newborn photography can be challenging because it is a really intimate experience that requires a lot of trust. Typically, clients come from recommendations and so it is a slow way to grow the business. I have been blessed to have many repeat clients as well
as referrals.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a professional photographer. I do portrait photography including families and headshots. However, my specialty is pregnancy and newborn photography. I have a comfortable studio in Woodland Hills
Which is designed for newborn babies’ comfort. I have a variety of props, knits and wraps for newborns and maternity gowns and fabric wraps, jewelry and more for maternity sessions.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite memories from childhood was that I used to help my grandmother in her garden. She taught me how to plant little flowers and some herbs, and take out the weeds. I’m so happy that I had the chance to have that experience with my grandma.
