Today we’d like to introduce you to Svitlana Maltseva
Hi Svitlana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Svitlana Maltseva, i was born and raised in Ukraine, Kharkiv.
from the very childhood i was very outgoing and naturally curious. My mom was engaging in as many different activities as i could handle. i was swimming professionally, learning english, french, german, participated in local theatrical play, was dancing hip-hop, went to national and international competitions. At age of 8 my mom signed me up for local model agency, thats when i started to take on runways shows, pageant beauty competitions and photosessions. I went on my first international modeling contract at age of 15 to Shanghai China and been combining shcool and modeling career ever since.
Now im based in LA and working as a model here
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
working as a model has definitelly builded up my character and toughen me up.
aside of hard physical labor as it is it also can affect your mental health, cuz you being judged upon your appearance every time and you livelihood depends on it. also its not guaranteed that you will make money on this or that contract. its basically like a gambling in a sence.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Ive done all kinds of modeling jobs: magazines, compaigns, catalogues, lookbooks, runway shows, prints and adds. But mainly im a commercial model. I guess the highlights of my career are covers of Elle and Marie Clair Serbia magazines amongst others, compaigns for Herbal Essences and John Frieda shampoo and appearing on one of the episodes of the iconic soap opera “The Bold & Beautiful”.
i think my persistence and dedication are definitely my strong suits. Also i dont have trouble engaging with people and able to maintain a friendly relationshios with the clients. I have my regulars whom im working with for 5 years now in LA.
