Daily Inspiration: Meet Selena Georgianna

Today we’d like to introduce you to Selena Georgianna.

Selena Georgianna

Hi Selena, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started LA MicroBrow in 2017, taking a microblading class. I told my husband, “It’s too hard; I can’t do it.” He said, “We just spent all this money you’re going to do some brows!” So, I did. I started doing brows for free or for $100.00.

Eventually, people started to pay me more and tell me I needed to charge more.

I worked out of several spaces and renting day rentals and working part-time for two years. Slowly I built a name for myself and people from surrounding counties and states started to come to me.

After a year of seeing clients not being able to get microblading, I took an ombre powder brow class by Brow Daddy. This class literally changed my life; it doubled my business, gained a friend and was invited to help him assist his LA and Las Vegas training in 2020 to 2021. I owe so much to Ruben.

I finally rented a room monthly after two years and booked consistently. The building was getting demolished and all the girls in the salon had to find a new home.

After eight months of searching, I finally found my recent home in Pasadena, CA at the Burlington arcade building at the Shops on Lake.

I have now been here for two years and loving it.

I have my clientele for powder brows, microblading, lip blush and lip neutralization. I also teach with my partner Cathelene @thebrowslanger at my studio once a month.

Permanent makeup has literally changed my life! I am thankful for it every day.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have a ten years medical background so that helped with sanitation and cross contamination, but I didn’t have a beauty background so I felt that it took me longer to understand how to create a new brow shape for clients that didn’t have a natural one.

My family and friends supported me along the way so gaining clients was smooth for me as well as gaining referrals and I’m so thankful to everyone for always referring me.

But it was a struggle to get good at my technique and understand different skin types and the pressure needed for each client. But with time comes experience and that is priceless.

I struggled with confidence with providing this service and if I was good enough, but through personal development and mindset I gained the confidence needed to push through the negative self-talk.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a cosmetic tattoo artist and trainer.

I create natural to makeup brows with a powder brow technique or microblading technique.

I also provide lip blushing a technique where I implant pigment into the lips to create a blushing color. Lip neutralization is also performed for those who have dark-pigmented lips and want a more flesh-tone color.

I also provide training for ombrè powder brows with my partner Cat at my studio in Pasadena, CA.

I am known for a more natural eyebrow look; at least that’s what my clients come to me for!

I am most proud of watching my clients gain so much confidence after getting permanent makeup done by me and also being able to bless my family with my blessings; that has been the most rewarding and fulfilling.

I think what sets me apart from others is that I am able to create a soft natural look as well as a bold makeup look. So anyone who comes to me is able to get the look they are going for!

Who else deserves credit in your story?
My biggest supporter is my husband, Dennis; he has always told me I can do it and pushed me to pursue this industry!

My mom, family and friends have always supported me by coming to me, shouting me out and referring anyone they know to me!

My mentor and friend Brow Daddy leveled me up to a place I couldn’t have gotten to without him!

My friend Cat, having a fellow pmu artist as a bff is something every artist needs, I am so thankful for her every day!

All my clients, students and online supporters have been cheering me on and that is an indescribable feeling to have people I just met or don’t know in person to root for me, thank you!!
