Daily Inspiration: Meet Pennie Promise

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pennie Promise.

Hi Pennie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I moved to Los Angeles from Houston in 2012 because I had hopes and dream of being an entertainer from the time I was 10 yrs old. I got to where I am today by sheer determination and patience.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. In the beginning of moving to Los Angeles, I had to quit my job as Massage Therapist because I had too many improper propositions. I’ve had a couple of cars repossessed. One time i ate just bread, because I had no money for condiments. I’ve also been homeless, for a few months.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a writer, actor, and stand up comedian. I specialize in entertaining people and making them laugh. Im most proud of not giving up.

What sets me apart, is that I bring a unique blend of creativity and discipline. I’m not just an actress, comedian, and writer. I understand how to produce, host, and market my work so it connects with audiences. That mix of talent and strategy is what sets me apart.”

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
What I’d like to share is my passion for creating spaces where comedy, culture, and truth collide. My YouTube show Tha Spicy Elephant premieres in the fall.
