Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Hill.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a Cincinnati gal at heart now living in Hollywood. Performing in grade school plays started my foray into the acting world. My passion for acting lead me to my chosen career as an actress. Back in Cincinnati, along with TV, commercial, film and stage work, I was also a print model and professional hand model. I moved to Los Angeles to follow my dreams and met and married my soulmate hubby, actor/writer William Joseph Hill. Together we have founded Four Scorpio Productions.
As our two-person team, we have written, directed, and have played Valerie and Vic in every episode of our cult classic web series “That Darn Girlfriend”. Currently, I have added author to my entertainment industry resume. I just published my first book, “The Next Contestant is…”, which is available on Amazon. You can get it on Kindle or paperback. It’s about my journey as a game show contestant and my behind-the scenes stories of my many games show escapades. I share with you my witticisms, experiences, skills, mindset and personal life lessons. These all played a part in getting me to that game show stage. I also reveal how you too can become a game show contestant! I hope the reader’s takeaway from my story is appreciating how your valuable experiences can be invaluable in your own life.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being in the entertainment industry is not the routine work lifestyle or path for most people. I did grow up with very loving and supportive parents who encouraged me on following my dreams. The challenges in this business is persistence and knowing your career is a journey that continues to unfold every day. I believe that you should give 110% to every project, be a team player and that building relationships is key to longevity in a career. Building a life in Los Angeles was a challenge at first without a car…but my positive attitude and determination carried me through. It’s exciting to get out of your comfort zone and follow and live your dreams!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I mentioned that my husband William and I created our show “That Darn Girlfriend”. Our kitschy comedy series is a homage to the late 1960s and early 1970s. We’re in our third season and have over 3,900 subscribers. In creating projects from my heart…it makes me proud and feels good…if I uplifted other people and inspired them. My book “The Next Contestant is…was in the works for over 10 years and I’m glad I had the discipline and determination to finish it and publish it. I believe what sets me apart is my spiritual way of looking at life and my enthusiasm that I hopefully bring to my family, friends and the world.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I’m into Astrology…so I’ll answer this question with my positive astrological traits that have been a divine support in my success. Being a Dec. 28th Capricorn…ambitious, enthusiastic, wry/clever sense of humor, organized, practical, intuitive, goal-oriented, disciplined and being the goat…I have the patience and endurance to go step-by-step on my ladder to success. I believe in being kind…not only to yourself but to others. Believe in yourself and your dreams! My motto is (it’s also on my Mini Cooper license plate) “Keep Going For the Stars!”
