Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah F. Madril.
Hi Noah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story basically begins around the time I was getting ready to Graduate from the University of Arizona. At the time, I had recently become a father at 21 and knew I had to follow my heart in my career path. I was studying for the LSAT in order to get into law school, which is precisely what my father did. I figured I would be a part of the family business and become an attorney. But something in my heart just didn’t feel 100% committed to this path. Law was…boring to say the least. I’m positive it would have been lucrative but why chase after stability over something you can put your heart and soul into. That’s when fate took me on my journey. One day while I was eating breakfast at my parent’s house, my father handed me an ad regarding being an extra in a film. Film and tv had never even entered my mind. Being from Tucson, that was never an option and just seemed so far-fetched. But life gives you a nudge sometimes. The film ended up being The Hangover 3, which was insane. I ended up getting on set and being cast in a scene with the entire main cast. I remember sitting on a Cab shooting a scene in Arizona with Bradley Cooper and Ken Jung. Ed Helms was on the phone with his agent during set up’s and Zack Galifinanakis was eating cheese wiz from the can. It was surreal. Next thing I know, I packed up all my stuff and moved to LA. Life’s a trip!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The struggle is REAL! But I have a saying I live by to this day, Pressure’ can bust pipes or make diamonds. It’s all our choice. Everything we do is our choice. We can choose to live with regret or we can push past our fears and reach for the stars. I’ve had many many setbacks, probably have many more, but I won’t let those define me. One of the biggest obstacles I had to overcome was leaving my son back in Arizona. This was such a heavy burden on my soul. The guilt for not being there ALL the time definitely held a cloud over my head. But I told myself this was all a part of the plan. And I would do everything in my power to get him here with me eventually. At the time, it was so far-fetched to even think he could ever come here to LA and live with me. But I kept that belief. Man, the power of the mind. Well, guess what!? My son now lives with me here in Los Angeles. Dreams can become reality only when we realize that whatever we hold in our mind’s eye is exactly what your will experience in reality. My everyday focus on improving my self-image and emotional intelligence has helped me tremendously. I call it my secret sauce.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My love lies in film and tv. I started off acting but that quickly turned to producing, writing, and directing. It’s been a steady progression in my career, not too fast but not slow either. This year has been incredible. I’ve directed three different projects. I’ve acted in a number of projects and wrote a half-hour comedy pilot that I’m currently pitching… I’m also working on an original horror feature that will knock the socks off the audience once we shoot it. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this!
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most people are shocked when I tell them I have a teenager for a son. I mean, I actually get surprised too. But having my son young definitely made me the man I am today. He’s a magnificent young man that puts a smile on my face all the time. I’m really proud to call him my son.
