Daily Inspiration: Meet Michelle Negron

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Negron.

Hi Michelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story starts out far out from California; I was actually born and raised on the east coast! I moved out to California about nine years ago to start a new journey after I had finished my studies at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. A chef by trade, but a writer by nature, I was determined to meld a balance between my two passions here. They meet delightfully in the food scenes, the many museums and book stores that invite like minded individuals to express themselves feverishly.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey here had been an enduring one, challenging me at every corner with new heights that I’m uncertain if I’ll be able to across over. Many life challenges have come hurling themselves at me too, catching me increasingly off-guard. Anxiety and Depression are my weights I have to adjust for in life, but the support group I’ve made in the last decade have eased the burdens they leave on my body. It’s not the easiest road but it’s one I try to pace myself with since it’s my path to walk.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a chef with over fifteen years of experience both in the hospitality and fine dining industry. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to meet many amazing individuals who have directly influenced my skills and appreciation as a chef. I specialize in primarily Italian and French cuisine while heavily leaning on my Puerto Rican heritage and my fondness of Mexican cuisine. I can’t just say I have ‘favorites’, food is great no matter where it comes from. When I’m not cooking, writing is where I really get down to it. I specialize in crafting Adult Fantasy novels that lean towards LGBTQA+ individuals. Fantasy has always had a special place close to my heart, just as much as food has. I’m proud of everything I’m capable of crafting, whether it’s pages of writing versus a nice Beef Bourguignon. Why not have both with a glass of wine to share with those you care about? It’s what writing and cooking both give to me; the ability to share with others!

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
