Daily Inspiration: Meet Liz Bryson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Bryson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
You know how kids always know what they want to be when they grow up? I was not like that haha. My only aspirations in life were to be a fashion designer and to go to Paris, France, both of which I am still in pursuit of. I come from a family of artists, who were overly supportive in my dreams (sewing classes, design books, and Eiffel Tower themed room decor). I also did very well in high school despite having no knowledge or want for a higher education. Once I got to college, I enrolled in business knowing it would help me later. I did however end up dropping out due to the pandemic and not being able to focus in the environment. All for the best though, I was able to revisit a hobby from high school. NAILSSSS!!! I’ve done my own nails for about 8 years now, however I got licensed and started to do ther’s nails a year and a half ago. I love it. Mixing my passions for art and science have been my dream. I also am able to utilize my business knowledge as I work to grow mine and strive to create art and inspire confidence through beauty. I also find the creative outlet as a way of unwinding and expressing myself.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course there are struggles. Nothing good comes easy, but alignments and blessings are abundant. One of the biggest obstacles as a new business is promoting. It’s definitely been a long way of learning to sell me and my work. My passion speaks for itself but without reaching my audience it means next to nothing. Social media definitely plays a huge roll in how I’m able to connect with others. It’s challenging for me to get myself out there, however I am in love with the process. I am big on the journey and I am thankful for every chance to challenge myself and to learn and evolve.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I find my passion is rooted in standing out, anything avant-garde. The nail art is really what excites me the most. I prefer to be labeled as a nail artist rather than a nail technician. I love all the 3-D, the new trends, any statement piece, anything that expresses someone’s personality and makes them feel beautiful. I love to do 3-D art on myself and others and it’s also the best promotion when people look at my nails they’re like wow those and that’s really what makes me the happiest, it feeds my passion. They call me Picasso at the salon I work at, if you need painted, I can do it. I love to try new things. When I applied, they were like oh well what kind of nail art do you do and I told them: not to speak highly of myself, but if you need it done, I can do it. If I see a new trend, I’m trying it as soon as I see it. My whole life is nails. I have new nails almost every week. My feed is filled with nails and all the new products there are, it’s just so fun and gratifying. People look at my nails and they’re like wow who did those and I can sat I did them like this is all me right here and to see how shocked they are I’d so driving. I strive to constantly elevate my craft to the next level.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people don’t know that I’m actually super shy. I’m good at talking. I’m a Gemini so I’m very social but it actually takes a lot for me to be able to do that. I get awkward quite often and sometimes I just have to sit in silence and work on my client because I run out of things to say, but I’ve worked on coming out of my shelf for a few years now. I used to have like three friends because I would be so anxious, but networking plays a huge role in the success of my field. I feel everyone has something that challenges them. They might not know that because I’m very bubbly, but it’s taking a lot to get here.
