Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of immersing myself in the beauty and fashion industries. I spent a decade as a hairstylist on the East Coast, where I honed my skills and developed a passion for enhancing personal beauty. Following that, I transitioned into fashion, dedicating another ten years to international sales and eventually launching my own clothing brand. While I enjoyed this journey, I found myself drawn back to the creative aspects of beauty that initially inspired me years ago.

In my search for a new direction, I discovered lash lifts and brow lamination, treatments that blend my extensive background in hair with innovative beauty techniques. This discovery reignited my passion and has also opened doors for me to evolve into teaching and product development (with a range of products coming soon)

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My career journey has been anything but smooth, yet I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have explored a variety of passions and interests along the way. I embarked on my fashion career in 2007, I traveled the globe and immersed myself in the industry. However, the landscape shifted dramatically with the onset of the recession in 2008, which challenged me to adapt/evolve.

When I launched my beauty business, I faced another significant hurdle as the pandemic struck shortly after. Navigating through these two global crises strengthened my determination. I feel fortunate to have emerged from these challenges with valuable insights and a renewed commitment to my passions.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a lash lift and brow lamination expert, my focus is on enhancing natural beauty through my signature treatment, The Lift Kit, which combines both lash lift and brow lamination. This approach allows me to create a harmonious look that elevates my clients’ features while giving them back precious time in the morning!

I take pride in my knowledge of the science behind hair—understanding how different chemicals and dyes interact with various hair types. This expertise enables me to provide tailored treatments that deliver exceptional results while ensuring the health and integrity of the hair.

One of my proudest accomplishments is the strong and trusting client base of women I have built over the years. Knowing they rely on me for their beauty treatments is incredibly rewarding and motivates me to continuously improve my craft.

What truly sets me apart is my passion for knowledge. I am committed to ongoing education and staying updated with the latest advancements in the industry, which allows me to refine my techniques and offer the best possible experiences to my clients.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice for anyone just starting out in the beauty industry is to truly pursue what you love and are passionate about. It may not look exactly like what you expect in the beginning, but you have to believe in yourself and what you are capable of!

Knowledge is absolutely key—always prioritize educating yourself and staying updated with the latest trends and techniques. The beauty industry is constantly evolving, and being informed will set you apart.

Additionally, practice, practice, practice. You can’t learn from your mistakes if you aren’t actively practicing your craft. The more you practice and experiment, the more confidence and skill you will gain.

In the end, trust that everything else will fall into place as long as you stay dedicated.
