Today we’d like to introduce you to Lex Turner.
Hi Lex, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The journey of rebranding myself and my business after burnout and grief was anything but linear. There was a point where I felt completely drained—creatively, emotionally, and mentally—as if every idea had been wrung dry. Stepping back wasn’t just necessary; it was survival. I questioned everything, from my aesthetic to my purpose, and realized I had been designing for approval, not authenticity. So, I stripped it all down and rebuilt with intention. Blaek Bold Media emerged—raw, unapologetic, and rooted in the belief that design should feel alive, not sterile. Grief taught me that creativity isn’t just about polish; it’s about humanity. Today, my work carries the scars and the strength of that transformation—less “perfect,” more *powerful*. The hustle is quieter now, but the impact? Louder than ever.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This journey hasn’t been one of those picture-perfect rebrands with a seamless glow-up montage. There were days I couldn’t open my laptop without crying, weeks where impostor syndrome screamed louder than my creativity, and moments I almost quit—for real. Burnout left me numb; grief made everything ache. But two anchors kept me from drifting: God and my best friend, Mercedes.
God reminded me I wasn’t just rebuilding a brand—I was rebuilding myself. Prayers turned into quiet clarity: “Create for purpose, not praise.” Meanwhile, Mercedes was the human embodiment of genuine love. She’d send me the most heartfelt messages throughout every season up to this point. She celebrated my tiny wins like they were Grammys and called me out when I tried to shrink back into “safe” designs.
The mess was part of the process. The late-night breakdowns, the scrapped concepts, the “Who even am I?” spiral—all of it led here. Today, my work isn’t just pretty; it’s purposeful. And the woman behind it? Stronger, softer, and finally free.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a multifaceted Black woman—a visionary, creator, and relentless outside-the-box thinker. As a web designer, I specialize in crafting immersive digital experiences, but my expertise doesn’t stop there. I weave together marketing strategy, bold graphics, and dynamic videography to build brands that don’t just exist but command attention. My work is known for its creativity, unapologetic edge, and the kind of bold delivery that makes audiences stop scrolling and engage.
But beyond pixels and campaigns, what I’m most proud of is this: I’m an endometriosis warrior, reshaping the narrative around chronic illness and ambition. I don’t just design—I prove that pain and passion can coexist, that limitations don’t get the final say. My journey—flaws, flare-ups, and all—sets me apart. While others chase trends, I create from truth, merging lived experience with artistry to show others like me: Your condition isn’t your ceiling.
Why work with me? Because I bring more than skills—I bring stories, resilience, and a no-nonsense approach to making brands unforgettable
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
This isn’t just about design or marketing—it’s about building a community where authenticity isn’t optional, it’s the foundation. A space where creatives, entrepreneurs, and warriors (of all kinds) can show up unedited, unapologetic, and utterly themselves. I’m not just crafting brands; I’m curating a movement—one where your scars, your quirks, and your bold-ass vision aren’t just welcomed, they’re celebrated.
Think of it like this: We’re the “unfiltered” table at the creative cafeteria. No performative hustle, no cookie-cutter trends—just real people creating real impact, with a side of “Damn, why didn’t I think of that?” energy.
So whether you’re here for the design magic, the endometriosis advocacy, or just to vibe with fellow rule-breakers—welcome. The door’s open, the seats are saved, and the ideas? Oh, they’re bold here.
