Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Torres.
Hi Kevin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
First off just want to say thank you for taking the time in interviewing me again, in February 2020 my interview was published. The two-year difference is I became the full owner of No13ody, during the pandemic was one of the hardest times creatively I felt stuck. It was until September 2021 that I decided to try again and give it another shot. I decided to get the LLC and by doing so it made me feel like I was more legit, and I had no choice and restart the brand. A full year later I’ve dropped a collection every month since and sales began to grow. I recently brought back the free dance classes and will continue to host more workshops in 2023.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There’s always a struggle in life by trying to balance everything in life. I went from having my product in a store on Melrose to just moving the brand online. It can get difficult being the designer, content creator, marketing, shipping, and inventory all while working a full-time job. My advice is just being consistent, taking your time off when you can, make a schedule for your product and tasks.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am proud of No13ody and the direction the brand is going. I am also proud of being able to consult others with their brand from my experiences. I specialize in color matching and taking the risk in rocking wild colors like pink with neon green you’ll be surprised how many people will wear that color. I am known for motivating others and bringing out the best in them, in the end, I just want everyone to win in life, we all deserve it. The difference between myself and others is I’m not selfish I’m not gatekeeping any resources.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I wanna thank my biggest supporters on this journey my mom, my brothers Ryan /Sebastian / Dylan, my girlfriend Adriana, Grams, Big Guy, Leo, Erns, Paul, Daniel, F8th, Romeo, Raven, Sebastian, Manu & Mari, Jay Chris & Sarah, Jaimar & Keke, Calvit & Sara, Mosi, Abby & Chef thank you millions of times the brand wouldn’t be here without y’all. Everyone that follows the brand deserve credit also, everyone that comments on the products shares it, likes it, buys anything, or simply just gives any feedback on the brand. I’m humble by all the support.
