Daily Inspiration: Meet Keren Sinai

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keren Sinai.

Hi Keren, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Thank you for welcoming me! It’s an honor to connect with you and share some of my story. To begin, I’m going to travel back to the 2nd grade. I had a few close friends that would attend classes at a dance studio after school. I was intrigued and wanted to join. Plus, there was something about wearing a leotard that just felt so empowering! The studio was pretty “old school” aka strict but it implemented a work ethic that helped mold me as a child and young artist. My teachers demanded a mature sense of focus and awareness. I felt connected to myself at a very young age because of this. I continued dancing all throughout high school and college where I received a Bachelor’s in dance. After college, I moved to NYC to pursue dance professionally. As years went by, I started to realize it was the only language of art that I indulged in. I was curious to explore other pockets of the art world. I had so many new ideas and I didn’t know what to do with them. As my mind started to open, a magical, creative perspective shift happened and I dove into photography, film, directing, and painting. It’s been a wild ride but the journey and exploration has been a joy.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In retrospect, I’m so thankful for the struggles. There were many. The journey was definitely rough for some time but as I’m getting older, it’s actually feeling much more fruitful. I think it’s all about perspective. Feeling hurt never makes things easier. I’ve spent a lot of time healing and working on myself because I believe it’s our birthright to enjoy this ride we called life, even when it throws us some curveballs. Love is truly a powerful vibration.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Currently, I’m developing my artist brand called Highshowers. I’ve always had trouble “categorizing” myself. I never felt like I just fit to one thing. I created Highshowers to represent almost the hub of my brain creatively. It’s where my visions come to life. It’s where I connect and share my light. I specifically like to create works that challenge the viewer to see the world differently. I think it’s powerful to imagine the things that are present that we don’t physically see. My work is heavily influenced by my spirituality. In the past year, I’ve started dipping my feet into the healing world. I felt a strong connection between my art and the spiritual realm. I believe we’re all made of a beautiful light that’s made of beautiful colors. Each color meaning something different. I explore this idea especially when I’m painting. My exploration of color has inspired me to dive into color therapy and research of auras and vibrations. I’m most proud of the healing impact my art and connection has had on other beings. My art has taught me a lot about healing which helps nurture my purpose of being a light here on Earth.

How do you define success?
When I’m healthy in my mind, body, and spirit, I’m happy. And to me, that’s success. However, some days are different. And on those days I think we should love ourselves as we are.
