Daily Inspiration: Meet Jon Ososki

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jon Ososki.

Hi Jon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out in the music industry mainly playing in bands and performing. I attended The Berklee College of Music in Boston and during my college years and after I played out in various bands. Then after taking some time off from music entirely I connected with a musician friend who was composing music for tv, films, media, and music libraries. I started working with him, and from there I started working as a composer.

In 2015 I also started releasing my own music as an electronic music artist, and ended up signing to an independent record label. As an artist things started to take off in 2016 after releasing my EP “Shatter The Perfection”. The third track on that EP “Relief In Believing” really started to take off and be included on a lot of new playlists. Those playlists lead to more playlists, radio plays, etc. Since then I’ve continued to release more albums, EPs, singles, and collaborations as an electronic music artist.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was not always a smooth road. As many of my fans know I started out in the music industry playing in a band and performing. Which is different from what I do now. I have always loved writing music, but it was always difficult for me performing on stage. I thought about giving up on music and definitely giving up on music as a career. I had to take some time off to reevaluate what I wanted in my music career, and what I wanted from my music. I started to understand where my strengths are, and what I was really good at. As I have said before, focusing on one thing I do really well and not stretching myself too thin has really helped me find the path in my music career.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an electronic music artist, multi-instrumentalist, and music composer. I studied songwriting at The Berklee College of Music in Boston and I’m currently a recording artist on Filter Label. As a composer I have been writing music for tv, films, media, and music libraries worldwide for the past eleven years. As an artist I create and release mostly instrumental and mostly electronic based music under my name Jon Ososki. I have my own publishing company Cold Sun Music and release most of my music under that publishing company along with other musical collaborations. Currently I’m promoting my latest album “A Blurred World” along with the single “Zen, Pt.2”.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My record label Filter Label run by Emil Hadji Panzov. All the artists, musicians, and creatives I’ve worked and collaborated with including fellow composers and musicians Marika Takeuchi and Tania Stavreva. Tae Gyun Kim (Juno Ray) for being my go to mixing engineer. And to fellow musician Paul Avgerinos for always being encouraging, inspiring, and supportive. And most importantly, all my listeners and fans who support my music.
