Today we’d like to introduce you to Janice Hui.
Hi Janice, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
A few years ago, my husband and I had the urge and desire to start something together. We had a few ideas at first, but ultimately ended up going this direction because of our love for dogs. Treats was the first thing that stood out because of the low barrier of entry, but good opportunity to try something innovative and creative.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Getting it started and up and running definitely was harder than we initially anticipated. From creating the recipes (products) to getting operational capabilities in place to attaining all the appropriate permits and licenses; we had to go through trials and tribulations.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I like cooking and baking in my spare time, so I created all the recipes, tools and techniques into making our treats. Meanwhile my husband handles the business and creative side, as that is what he does professionally.
