Today we’d like to introduce you to Gordon Allen.
Hi Gordon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Megan and I had been working in the event production industry for years, and we were both ready for a change. We had been talking about starting our own business for a while, but we weren’t exactly sure what that business would be. One day, while on a job site, we were discussing the challenges of communication while planning events, and we realized that there was a real need for a better way to relay information and choose to showcase spaces online. That’s when the idea for BirdsEye VR was born.
We started working on the concept in 2018 and officially launched the company in 2019. Getting things off the ground at first was a challenge, but we were passionate about the idea and willing to put in the work. We started by reaching out to our personal and professional networks, offering our services to anyone who might be interested. As word started to spread, we began to get more and more clients.
One of the biggest turning points for us was when we were hired by a national park to create virtual tours of their property. The project was a huge success and helped put us on the map. Since then, we’ve worked with a wide variety of clients, from small businesses to global corporations.
As we’ve grown, we’ve also expanded our services to include 3D mapping, app development, and other immersive technologies. We’re constantly exploring new ways to use technology to help businesses succeed, and we’re excited to see where the future takes us.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges we faced at BirdsEye VR was creatively explaining the immersive technology to potential clients. Some people were not quite ready for the extra dimension that 3D marketing offers, while others jumped headfirst into the technology. It was difficult to balance the excitement and potential of the technology with the need to educate and explain it in a way that would resonate with each individual client.
We also faced some technical challenges in the early days of BirdsEye VR. The technology was still relatively new and untested, and we had to learn as we went along. This meant that there were times when things didn’t quite work as planned, and we had to troubleshoot and adapt on the fly.
Overall, though, we feel that these challenges have helped us to grow and evolve as a company. We are constantly learning and improving, and we are excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible with immersive technology.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
