Daily Inspiration: Meet Gemma Rose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gemma Rose.

Hi Gemma, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My love for gemstones started early. As a child, I was completely captivated by crystals — I told everyone I wanted to be a geologist. Around that same time, my mother told me I was a channel. It wasn’t something I fully understood, and honestly, it made me feel even more different than I already did. Like many sensitive kids, I just wanted to be “normal,” so I tried to push that part of myself away.

Years later, in my twenties, I went through a difficult breakup and a friend gave me a large piece of rose quartz. She told me to sleep with it on my heart, and I did — night after night. That crystal held me through the heartbreak in a way that felt truly magical. It opened my heart to the idea that gemstones weren’t just beautiful, they were medicine.

I like to call them “vitamins for the soul.”

Soon after, I volunteered with the Hopi people and was deeply moved by how they wove spirituality into every aspect of their art. It planted a seed in me — and one day while visiting Pagosa Springs, Colorado, I wandered into a little shop and bought some silk cord and beads. I had no plan. I just sat by a creek and started stringing. That’s when a group of teenagers passed by and asked if they could buy the necklaces. I kept saying, “I don’t even make jewelry!” But they insisted. I finally said $5 each — and within an hour, I’d sold every single one.

That same afternoon, a five-year-old girl wandered up to my little blanket setup and started telling me about her worries and fears. I listened and made her a simple bracelet, telling her it was a magical bracelet that would help her feel safe whenever she felt scared. She lit up. That moment made something inside me click…I wasn’t just making jewelry. I was channeling healing, storytelling, and soul connection through gemstones.

When I moved to Los Angeles shortly after to do my yoga teacher training, I started wearing my creations and people would stop me after class asking to buy the pieces right off my neck. It all happened so organically — no business plan, just word of mouth and heart connection. One day, a friend saw an ad in the LA Times about Henri Bendel hosting an open call for local designers. She urged me to go, and I almost didn’t, but something told me to show up. I did, and they placed a large order on the spot. It became my very first store account.

That was nearly 25 years ago, and the path since has unfolded through intuition, deep trust, and a whole lot of love. It’s never been just about jewelry. Every piece is made with the intention to align you with your heart’s wisdom and guide you toward your highest good and next level of growth.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road, but a meaningful one. The most challenging aspect of this journey has been learning the business side of things. When I started 25 years ago, there was no Instagram, websites were barely a thing, and I had zero formal business training. I didn’t have goals or a strategy — I was just following the energy, creating from my heart, and somehow making it work. I always paid my bills, but I struggled to make ends meet more often than not.

For the first few years, I tutored young children in reading and math so I could have a steady paycheck while I built my jewelry business. That stability helped, but finances were still a constant source of stress. I didn’t know how to “scale” or expand; I just knew how to pour my heart into each piece.

One thing having a business will absolutely teach you is that it’s a mirror. It reflects all your stuff — your insecurities, your beliefs about worth, your relationship with money. I’ve had to do a lot of inner work to build confidence in myself and my creations. And more than anything, I’ve had to learn to trust in myself, in the process, and in the timing of things.

In the early years, I tried to follow the “masculine” approach to manifestation — setting strict goals, pushing hard, trying to force outcomes — and it just never worked for me. I thought something was wrong with me. But over time, I realized that my business is its own kind of magic. The more I trust that what I create is channeled for someone, the more everything flows. So I’d say the biggest challenge has been building that trust muscle — learning to stay aligned with my heart, remembering that I’m here to be of service, and letting the rest unfold from there.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create one-of-a-kind fine jewelry with rare healing gemstones, each piece intentionally designed to support someone’s spiritual journey. I see my work as a form of energetic medicine — a blend of beauty, intuition, and purpose. My work is about creating jewelry that feels personal, purposeful, and energetically aligned.

My work blends beauty, energy, and meaning — designed not just for adornment, but to support healing, mark transitions, and celebrate milestones.

People come to me during powerful life moments — whether it’s a new chapter, a loss, a heartbreak, , or a deep inner awakening. Many of the pieces I create are chosen to honor those moments — to commemorate a loved one, a breakthrough, a celebration of self, or a sacred shift in someone’s life.

What sets my work apart is the way I integrate channeling, astrology, and intuitive guidance into the design process. I offer custom creations, intuitive jewelry readings, and birth chart-based gemstone maps that help people connect with pieces aligned to their soul’s blueprint.

What I’m most proud of is hearing how the pieces I create make people feel — seen, supported, and empowered. When someone tells me, “I feel like this piece found me,” or “I haven’t taken it off since it arrived,” that’s when I know the energy is working.

I believe jewelry can be more than beautiful — it can be deeply personal, spiritually aligned, and energetically alive. Each piece is made with intention, and my hope is always that it becomes a meaningful companion on someone’s path.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of creating pieces for women all over the world — from celebrities to spiritual teachers to everyday angels — and what I’m most proud of is how often I hear, “This piece changed something in me. It helped me remember who I really am.” That, to me, is everything.

I believe what truly sets Gemma Rose Healing Jewelry apart is the intentional energy behind each creation. Every gemstone is hand-selected for its energetic properties, and every piece is made with the prayer that it will serve its wearer in the highest, most loving way. I see myself as the bridge; the hands that help the stone find its person.

This work has taught me that beauty can be a healing force, and that jewelry, when crafted with love and purpose, can become a deeply personal and transformational companion.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe we’re moving into a time where handmade, intentional, and heart-centered creations will become increasingly valued. People are craving meaning, not just beauty, and they’re drawn to pieces that carry a story, an energy, and a deeper sense of connection.

In the jewelry world, I see a shift toward more personalized, soul-aligned experiences. It’s no longer just about finding a beautiful piece — it’s about finding the right piece, the one that reflects where you are on your journey. That’s why I think offerings that blend intuitive guidance and energetic support, such as the 1:1 healing sessions I offer to help customers choose their pieces, will become more sought after. Whether in person or virtually, people are looking for something that feels personal, sacred, and aligned.

I truly believe that kind of intentional, heart-led creation is where the future is heading — not just in jewelry, but in how we approach beauty, healing, and self-expression as a whole.
