Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Floridia.
Hi Faith, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Born and raised in Placentia, California, I am (age 28) a true artist in every sense of the word. I embody the laid-back, sunny spirit of the Golden State. My father, Giancarlo Floridia, is a professional musician who ghostwrites music and songs for a melodic-rock music industry label, while my mother, Amber, was for many years a highly respected photographer.
With Italian roots and a fiercely creative streak, and never one to shy away from the camera, I began modeling at an early age while living in Cedar Park, Texas. There, not only did I become a well-known hair model for a successful area salon, but I also served as a model for many of my mother’s photographs. Later, after moving to Florida, I regularly secured work as a swimsuit model for a popular women’s store in St. Petersburg.
Since relocating permanently to Los Angeles in 2016, I’ve made appearances in numerous music videos for various bands. I have regularly been the “Video Vixen” in multiple music videos for the hard rock band LA Guns, led by Tracii Guns (fyi: Tracii Guns was a short-lived member of Guns ‘N Roses.) Some of those videos can be seen here:

And I’ve been featured in music videos by Clean Break (which features singer James Durbin from “American Idol,” drummer Robert Sweet from Stryper, and bassist Perry Richardson from Fire House.) One can be seen here:

Once setting my sights on becoming a renowned Pinup Girl, I began posing as a model for numerous car magazines, including Retro Lovely, Rebel 13, Cruzin’, The Social Pin Magazine, and more. I love my pinup career, and, with the encouragement of well-known Pinup Photographer Mitzi Valenzuela — who really helped me to flourish, and helped me to find myself fully embraced by many other Southern California Pinup Models, who have welcomed me into their community.
In addition to regularly working as a Pinup Girl, I have also been hired as a Lingerie Model for What Katey Did, UK, and I am a regular hair model for the salon, Suavecito, in So. Cal. I greatly enjoy modeling for the Vintage Galleria located within Santa Ana, CA’s Main Place Mall, as well as for vintage inspired clothing from dress makers featured within that store, including Hemet, Heart of Haute and Mischief Made.
Most recently, I was asked by The Tikiland Trading Company to model for them as as a Halloween-inspired “swamp monster” for one of their most popular products.
My additional passions are for cooking, art, and music. I am is also a budding fine artist, who loves to paint and draw in my spare time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a model is never smooth sailing but you have to be grateful for the opportunities that come along. Some people and companies and clients are going to like you because they recognize that what you have to offer is unique and special – while others may not. I believe the people meant to find you and work with you will help make someone’s modeling career work out in the long run.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m most well known for my vintage style work as a pinup, retro clothing, and lingerie model for the past four years. Overall, I’ve been modeling now for over 10 years in total. My look is what sets me apart as a model. When I’m dressed as a pinup in retro clothing, I feel the part and embrace a specific look that very few other women today have. Also, I simply love to help people. I’ve dealt with alot of other girls who are very competitive in the modeling world, and who don’t want you to succeed. This is quite often older women models – you’d think they’d like to pass the torch to younger girls like me, but that doesn’t often happen. It’s very hard competing within the modeling world comprised of so many other females. Everyone says they want to be your friend, but very few people will show up to support you. You have to work hard to overcome the stiff competition and occasional failures.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is bittersweet. It was when my parents were going through a divorce, I lived with my grandmother in Ohio. I loved living with her and greatly enjoyed the changing of the seasons there, in spite of the chaos that my parents were going through. Another fun childhood memory was when I was a young model for my mom when she was a prominent photographer.
