Hi Daria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We are the Cosmic Eye Team, the pioneering Iris Photography studio in the USA, excited to share our story with you. Founded in 2021 by friends Anna Chernegova, Daria Buriakova, and Roman Gorianskii, our journey began with a fascination for the hidden beauty within our eyes.

Our passion quickly grew into a deep exploration of the unique patterns and beauty in every individual’s eyes. Our adventure started by capturing the eyes of friends, and the enthusiastic response at the Rose Bowl market in LA propelled us forward with a grand vision.

Today, three years later, we proudly operate studios in three major US cities: Hollywood in Los Angeles, Chelsea Market in New York City, and the scenic Fishing Wharfs Area of San Francisco. Our journey has been marked by continuous refinement to ensure the highest quality and resolution in our eye photography.

At Cosmic Eye, we believe in the beauty and uniqueness of all eyes. Our mission is to capture this essence by photographing multiple eyes and creating memorable art, whether preserved digitally or showcased through prints like Acrylic, Metal, jewelry, phone cases, and more.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth, but the challenges we’ve faced have shaped us and our business in profound ways. One of the biggest challenges was starting from scratch and establishing ourselves in a new market. Iris photography is a unique niche, and educating people about its beauty and potential took time.

We also had to overcome technical hurdles. Developing a setup that could capture the intricate details of the iris with high resolution and quality required a lot of research and experimentation. Each step involved trial and error, from the type of cameras we used to the lighting and positioning techniques.

Another significant challenge was expanding to multiple cities. Each new location brought its own set of logistical issues, from finding the right space to hiring and training staff who shared our passion and vision. Adapting our approach to fit different markets while maintaining consistency in our work was a delicate balance.

Despite these obstacles, our dedication and the overwhelming positive response from our customers have kept us motivated. Every eye we photograph reminds us why we started this journey and fuels our passion to keep pushing forward.
