Daily Inspiration: Meet Danny De Lillo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny De Lillo

Hi Danny, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Oh, this is a big question. Life is such an incredible journey, and honestly, I’m not sure where it all truly began—but here we are. Growing up, I struggled to fully embrace myself. I struggled to be the kind and compassionate person I knew I was in a world that wasn’t always kind in return. I wrestled with my identity, my sexuality, and the idea of love in a society that often told me that who I was wasn’t “normal.”

But here’s what I know now: despite every obstacle, I’ve remained true to myself. I am safe in my kindness, in my compassion, and in my identity. I never changed for anyone, and I hope you never do either. You are exactly who you are meant to be—beautiful, worthy, and whole.

So, how did it all start? With struggle. And where am I today? In a place of peace, purpose, and gratitude for the person I’ve become. For anyone reading this, I hope you find that same peace—today, tomorrow, and in all the days ahead. Your voice matters. Your presence matters.

And now, I’m building Sweet Humans—a space for storytellers where everyone is safe, heard, creative, and valued. Coming soon!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Life will always bring challenges, but through it all, don’t forget to live. It’s so easy to get caught up in chasing dreams and goals that we forget to be present, to breathe, and to take care of ourselves along the way.

I’ve faced moments in my life where I truly didn’t know how I’d make it through—abusive relationships, abuses of power, times when I had no money, no home, and felt like my dreams were slipping away. There were moments when I thought it might all be over…

But my friends, it is never over. Even in heartbreak, in healing, in redirection—your dreams are still inside you, waiting for you to bring them to life.

I’ve cried so many tears over things that didn’t serve me, and what I’ve learned is this: you have to take care of you first. Serve yourself before you serve others. And if you ever feel like you’ve fallen off course, remember—you can always get back on.

The struggles, the setbacks, the moments of doubt—they all built my resilience. They shaped me, strengthened me, and made me ready for the dreams I’m now stepping into. And when those dreams finally come to life, I know I’ll appreciate them even more because of everything it took to get here.

So wherever you are on your journey, keep going. You are capable. You are worthy. And your dreams are still waiting for you.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My creative journey has taken many twists and turns, but every step has led me to where I am today. I’m a creative development producer, and later this year, I’ll be launching Sweet Humans—a platform designed to uplift, support, and celebrate storytellers in safe, compassionate, and inspiring spaces.

At my core, I thrive on energizing people—reminding them of their gifts, their dreams, and their worth through creativity. I love developing art, stories, and projects that bring people together, forming creative families that build, support, and enhance one another.

My work has spanned many roles—public speaker, storyteller, board member, producer, and communicator—whether on camera, on stage, in a park, or over coffee. But no matter where I am, I remain both a mentor and a mentee, always learning, growing, and evolving.

What I’m most proud of isn’t a title or a project—it’s the people. The ones who have told me I helped them, encouraged them, believed in them. That, above all else, is what drives me every day.

Any big plans?
I’ve never been more excited for the future than I am right now. After navigating one of the most challenging chapters of my life—filled with setbacks, change, and personal growth—I’ve come out stronger, more determined, and more alive than ever.

I’m choosing to step fully into the life I was meant to live, surrounding myself with the people, places, and energy that uplift and inspire me.

I see my future filled with travel, laughter, creativity, meaningful projects, and so much joy. I’m embracing gratitude, health, love, and peace—and I hope the same for you, too.

With Sweet Humans, I’m creating a space where stories will change perspectives, open hearts, and help people feel seen, heard, and valued. I can’t wait to share this journey with you—all of you, near and far.

Sweet Humans is coming. And I couldn’t be more ready.
