Hi danila, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a Russian portrait and lifestyle photographer based in vibrant Los Angeles, I’ve dedicated the past two years to immersing myself in the world of photography. What began in high school, capturing California’s breathtaking landscapes, evolved when I moved to Indiana for college at Purdue University. There, amidst a different backdrop, I discovered my passion for portraits, realizing their power to tell captivating stories. Since then, I’ve been driven by this passion to explore endless creative avenues.

My journey with photography has been a deeply personal one, marked by moments of self-discovery and artistic growth. With each click of the shutter, I’ve found myself drawn deeper into the intricacies of human expression and the subtle nuances of our shared experiences. It’s through this lens that I approach every project, seeking to capture not just images, but the essence of the individuals and moments before me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing worthwhile comes easy. The biggest struggle was finding people to work with when I had no content to show them. My first couple of shoots were hard to set up but once the images were shared by the models, it was smooth sailing from there on out. Luckily I started my portrait company back in college so there was always someone new that I could work with.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in taking portraits during a certain time of day called golden hour, which is approximately an hour after sunrise or an hour before sunset.

I’m committed to continuous learning and growth in my craft. Each new day is a chance for me to explore further the unlimited creative avenues this art form provides. I strive to uncover the unique essence of each subject. Whether in the studio or amidst the dynamic backdrop of urban life, I seek to create images that evoke a sense of connection. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling, I approach each project with enthusiasm and dedication, committed to capturing moments that stand as timeless reflections of our shared humanity.

Jesus matters most to me. He’s helped me get to where I am today and carried me through all difficulties along the way.
