Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Steckler.
Hi Danielle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I got started cooking by watching my parents cook. I would come home from school, make a snack and turn on PBS to watch Julia Childs and the Galloping Gourmet. I was mesmerized. They taught me the basics of cooking, such as how to chop vegetables and how to make traditional dishes. I loved the flavors and textures of food and wanted to learn how to make it myself.
I am a firm believer in the power of food to bring people together. I love cooking for friends and family, and I also enjoy catering and hosting pop-up events. I believe that food is a way to connect with others and to share cultures.
I am excited to continue my career as a chef and to share my love of food with others. I believe that food is a powerful force for good in the world, and I am committed to using my skills to make a positive impact.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I have been a chef for over 20 years, and it has been a challenging but rewarding career. I started my own catering business 15 years ago, which has given me the freedom to create my own schedule and be a present and supportive member of my family. Being a female chef and boss is a challenge, but it is also incredibly rewarding. I have learned to be extremely organized and good at managing my time and finances. I have also learned to be a strong leader and to inspire others to be their best. I am passionate about food and cooking, and I love to share my love of food with others.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I consider myself to be a creative chef. I enjoy experimenting with new flavors and techniques, and I love to create dishes that are both beautiful and delicious. I am also a very hands-on chef, and I love being in the kitchen and working with my team to create amazing food.
I am inspired by a variety of sources, including my travels, my family, and my culture ( I am half Japanese, half Jewish). I also love to read cookbooks and trying out new dishes with my friends.
I specialize in Japanese, seasonal and Middle Eastern cuisines.
I love the freshness and seasonality of Japanese ingredients, and I enjoy using them to create dishes that are both beautiful and delicious. I am also inspired by the flavors and techniques of Middle Eastern cuisine, and I love to incorporate them into my dishes.
I believe that food is a way to connect with people from different cultures, and I am passionate about using my skills as a chef to bring people together.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I just wanted to be with my friends, listen to music, make art and of course, food. My house was the one where everyone hung out, I had the cool parents and we loved to cook.
