Daily Inspiration: Meet Cory Sparkuhl

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cory Sparkuhl. 

Hi Cory, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since my dad bought me a Hi8 camera when I was seven years old, I’ve had a passion for filmmaking. I grew up in Laguna Beach, where I shot films of my buddies and myself skateboarding and surfing. My hobby eventually turned into a healthy obsession, and I aspired to live and breathe filmmaking. 

Once I decided that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, I enrolled at a film School in Los Angeles. I enthusiastically went on to complete my degree in cinematography and post-production. 

Fresh out of college, I started working in the television industry for various producers and gained valuable experience on programs for television and the internet over seven prosperous years. 

After learning the ropes, I decided to take a leap of faith and launch my own company in my hometown in 2010. I initially started with the support of one other cinematographer and grew the company progressively. 

Little over a decade later, I’ve grown the team to five members and added the latest equipment to create a full-service media production house. I’ve now successfully served over a hundred clients, and last year, I generated over $40k worth of profits in a single month, which was particularly rewarding. 

While money is not my primary motivation, being able to achieve financial milestones year on year tells me that I must be doing something right. As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my reliability, honesty, and integrity. 

I endeavor to maintain open communication with the client and create a pleasant experience so that I can deliver a captivating final product that builds brand equity. Crafting creative storytelling has allowed me to get my clients’ message across to their target audience and has made me successful in the process… 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has an always been a smooth road as there are always struggles. Especially when you start a business from scratch with no nest egg or specific finances, you’re starting from the ground up and trying to work your way to the top. Being able to build up your business financially is a major achievement that we have been very successful with 

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a full-service entertainment group where passion and business meet. Our goal is to deliver high-quality Video Production Services as well as excellent customer service. Each production we have the privilege to put together is different and special, and it’s on the way. Each production has its own life and story to tell. Therefore, not one production is made the same way. 

All of us at Sparkle Films LLC understand the value of excellent customer service. We pride ourselves on our “nothing but the best” service skills. We truly enjoy the company of our clients and the close relationships we build. It is not uncommon for us to do several productions for the same client because they are so pleased with our work. 

Our customer service will always be the most important thing we do. Our passion will make your dreams come to life. 

We will work with you as a partner from video concept to shooting to editing the final product. We ensure that the full impact and vision of the Video Production will not only reach your audience but also make an impact on them.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Absolutely. There are many people that have played a key role in my success, such as Trev Howard, who is my mentor and coach throughout the years when I first started my business. He assisted with directing, scriptwriting, and all sorts of projects. I will never forget. Also, my best friend Cyrus Polk who I grew up with and skateboarded, he helped me as in the early stages of my business. With cinematography and editing. And I cannot forget one of my best friends Shannon Belknap who did all of the marketing and bookkeeping when we first started the business in 2011
